That is probably the best cleaned up Super 8 footage that I have ever seen. Even though it is not perfect obviously due to the original recording, I'd rather watch this than almost any modern, hi-def shot in 4K, concert of any other band.

When I see and hear this footage, I still come to the conclusion that VH was the greatest live band ever back in those first few years with those early albums. There is such an energy produced that I don't think anyone else has ever matched. I find Dave to be great here. Vocally he is on point for the most part. He is not absolutely pitch-perfect like Freddie Mercury or anything like that, but his timing with his vocal delivery is very good here compared to later tours, and he is hitting the right notes for the most part.

The rest of the band is absolutely "On Fire" as well. Ed's tone is so good here....no words can do it justice. This is why I am hoping somewhere in the VH recording vaults there are full shows captured on film from those early years. A hi-def transfer of an early career show filmed on higher resolution film stock would be a dream come true for me, and I am sure many other VH fans as well.

Completely agree. VH live 78-81 was completely untouchable by any band, before or since.

Thanks for your work with this VH footage from the late 70s. Maybe I missed it somewhere else, but what is the "2021 project" you mention here? Is it something you can discuss?

We are not on social media currently except for a FB page, etc
which was setup to document the project which we are about to undertake after resolving some hardware issues associated working with 45+ year old polyester film...which are different from tri-acetate ...took 7 months for that alone
if anyone is interested in this project that is the only place we reside online for now..

I personally won't go near YouTube again
    trust me on that..
