But somebody in his inner “Circle” needs to tell him, “Enough. Stop fucking mentioning how angry you were when you left VH in 1996....25 years ago.”

Ideally, that person would be Mike. But I’m guessing he just stays out of it.

I dont think anyone has questioned whether it was factual as far as what went on in 2004. The question is if you think it is cool, or just plain decent, to sellout a supposed friend to make a few extra bucks on a book. Personally, it was a POS thing to do, and he should regret it.

But, yes, I agree with you and Mike, that Sam will never know when to shut his yapper.

But Sam went for a "warts and all" approach. The part about his own divorce makes him look like an a-hole - he doesn't paint a perfect picture of himself in the book, far from it.

Arguably he did, because Standing Hampton only eventually went platinum in 1992, ten years after release. A hell of a lot of people bought that album because they wanted to hear what the new guy in VH was gonna bring to the table. Me included. And playing One Way To Rock on every Van Halen tour 86-95 certainly didnít hurt either.

Would that album have eventually rolled over to platinum had he not joined Van Halen? Not a chance. It would have stayed at gold, which is where it was in 1986 before he joined Van Halen.

Well you can say the same thing for the Roth catalog. Sammy sang the old songs on tour and helped those album sales.

or does this logic not apply for the Sammy haters ?

Sure. I was just correcting the misinformation that Standing Hampton was platinum when he joined VH - it wasnít, and offering a suggestion as to why it DID eventually go platinum ten years later. Itís pretty rare for an album thatís only gold to roll over to platinum literally ten years after release. Strike that, itís VERY rare. Stuff like VH3, Creatures of the Night, some of the Sabbath and Priest albums etc that were only Gold in the early 80s STILL arenít platinum. Good for Sam for going platinum with it eventually. Itís not a dig against him, itís a correcting of misinformation and a suggestion as to why it happened.

A Little Ainít Enough is still only gold, if you want to reduce it to a mere tit for tat/dick measuring competition.

Youíre being pretty silly. I spread no misinformation. I said Sammy had three strong-selling albums on his own right before he joined Van Halen. I didnít even suggest WHEN it went platinum, just that it is, which is 100% accurate. I know those albums sold well before he joined Van Halen, and so do you. And whatever success he achieved with them before he joined Van Halen (and they were successful), he did it without needing anyoneís name on it but his own, which is EXACTLY what I said.

I have no idea when those albums were certified because I donít care. I just looked and saw they were. If you really want to believe that those albums only started selling after Sammy joined the band, you are free to spread that misinformation that you know full well is untrue. If you were alive back then and Iím guessing you probably werenít, you would remember that those three albums all had videos from them, they all got a good rotation on MTV, there were singles that charted in the Top 40 including several that hit the Top 10 on the Mainstream Rock Charts (a few inside the Top 5), and the albums all charted in the Top 40. So to suggest that Sammy was a nobody who did nothing ON HIS OWN before he joined Van Halen that was successful is 100% false. His career was on a definite uptick when he joined the band, and it was perfect timing for him. I know youíre going to do your fact checking on what I just posted because of your valiant fight against universal misinformation, so knock yourself out bud.

Never thought Iíd see a guy supporting Van Halen with Gary Cherone , and having such issues with Sammy. Perplexing in itself.

FYI you are spreading misinformation. An EP is not an album therefore Crazy From The Heat is not a platinum ďalbum.Ē It is an EP and there is a difference. So donít spread misinformation. Thank you.

If you want to say Dave had two platinum albums in a row that would be correct. Please do not say he had three because he did not. This misconception has to end.

And you can read about what qualifies as an album versus a single or EP. Crazy From The Heat does not. Donít be offended dude, Iím just trying to correct your misinformation, I know you donít want to be spreading anything this vital if itís untrue. Just looking out for you man. I care.

Yep and when it does you can all blame me. I feel it coming.

But Iím sorry this whole misinformation nonsense was getting to me. Like weíre discussing national security or something that actually matters. We must stop the world from speaking incorrectly about Sammy and Daveís ďalbumĒ sales. We must look out for the universe and mankind!! The buck stops here!!!!!!!

I was defending Dave and I make a mention of Sammy having a more successful solo career and he went Blacklist on me.

    So itís partially my fault.

This misinformation must stop, though. This aggression will not stand.
