That's Why I love You might've been decent with the previous singers, but Gary just ruins it. His extra "scratchy" vocals are nails on a chalkboard.

I can’t get on board with removing Ballot or the Bullet. Lyrics aside, it’s one if the most “Van Halen” songs in the album. That verse riff is sick and Al crushed that tune.

Yep, musically that song is great. Al is smoking on it, especially during Ed's cool slide solo. The biggest problem is Gary did not come up with any sort of a chorus at all. If it had just been an instrumental people would like it.

Gary aside, hated the tone Ed decided to go with on III. Not sure how much of that is on Ed, and how much is on Mike Post, but easily my least favorite tone of his.

The crazy part of that is that his live rig sounded fine when I saw them, a lot better than some of his other tour set ups.
