Didn't understand why they got him. He was bad with the Angels. Then I thought maybe the analytics team knew something. Nope. 4 solo HR's already, almost 6, in 4 innings. I believe the Yankees beat up on him earlier in the year too. Hopefully Severino and Kluber come back soon like their old selves.

Meanwhile the O's SP is 2-12 with a 6.00+ ERA. Yup, knew the Yanks were in trouble tonight. lol No hitter through 4.

Nationals give up 5 runs in the ninth to lose...awesome.

It sucks, don't know how you've done it for so long.

Thing is, we will be buyers in free agency this Fall, I doubt you guys will.

I like Atlanta's philosophy of not giving up on the season, despite losing one of the best players in the game for the remainder. They actually made a couple moves to help themselves at the deadline.

The NL East is still up for grabs. I really don't think the Mets will hang on. Things are already starting to get interesting. I understand the Nats' recent business moves, and yeah it makes sense. But looking at their schedule, 35 of the remaining 53 games are against NL East opponents.

Mets have 11 left with the Nats (-6.5)

Mets also have 13 consecutive games against SF and LAD. That will be tough for NY.

I turned it off after the Dickerson Grand Slam....lol...

Giants won it in the 10th, Arizona is brutal...

Interesting game tonight in AZ. Madison Bumgarner vs his old team. BUT... Buster is getting the day off and they will probably go very RIGHTY heavy in the lineup so no Crawford... He most likely won't be facing any past teammates besides Johnn Cueto since the Giants have had high turnover the last few years with the rebuild......lol..

It had more to do with how they were playing after the All Star Break. If they played well coming out of the break, they wouldn't have been sellers, but they were really bad after the All Star Game, and that is that.

Sometimes, players need to show something. Most of the roster had been underperforming for the season, and it was time. Also, after being buyers at the deadline for several years in a row, we had NOTHING in our farm system to use as trade capital.

Oh hell no. The Orioles only become buyers once they get above 500. And only until the rookie contracts of anyone good expire. Then its back to jettison and rebuild mode.

Yeah, it'll be interesting with MadBum facing his old team.

But I think more eyes will be on the short series starting tonight in LA. Astros are in town. This will have to be the most hostile environment Houston has faced yet. Hope so, at least. Fans were good in the Bronx earlier in the year, but this has to be bigger. On top of it, Scherzer tomorrow night.

I know, I get it. I guess I'm just looking at it more as a fan. That's why I like what Atlanta is doing. Nats are not in as good a position, and, like you said, their play since the ASG has been mediocre at best. It's unfortunate.

It would be a lot more fun to see them start losing some games.
