Brewers did what they had to do and won 3 against the Mets to win division.

Cardinals were licking their chops for them to come to STL. Now it doesn't matter.

Damn, NYY sweeping Boston in Beantown. Didn’t see that coming.
Also, Mike Stanton is on one of his hot streaks at the right time.

Some horrible fielding on both sides. Red Sox can't have Dalbec playing 1st base. 2nd game in a row he gave extra life to a hitter by not catching a foul ball. Then again, Schwarber isn't the answer.
DJ drops easy foul pop. Gallo drops fly ball. Weird night.
Ump blew that strike 3 call on Judge--fouled into catcher's glove, catcher dropped ball on transfer, ump thought catcher never had control. He did. Not reviewable, though. Extra life. Judge hits 2-RBI double.

Remember when JMJ wanted to get rid of Stanton? lol JMJ, where are ya, bud?

Still, Boston has a cake schedule left and Yanks get 3 @ Toronto and 3 vs TB--hopefully the Rays are resting guys by then.

Cardinals now have won 16 in a row with some late game dramatics in several of the wins, but yesterday might have been the most dramatic. First the Cardinals tie it late, then score two in the top of the 9th to take a 4-2 lead, but the real drama happened in the bottom of the 9th.

    (Video in link)
    https://www.mlb.com/news/cardinals-w...rule-confusion

Cubs had runners on 1st and 2nd with one out. The batter pops one up and neither Arenado or Knizner reacted when it first went up, almost like they both lost it on contact. The ball seemed to hug the third base line and then took a turn back towards the infield at the last moment. That caused two important things to happen: Arenado slipped and the ball fell in fair territory, and third base umpire at the very last second call an infield fly.

No one on the field knew there was an infield fly apparently as both runners from the Cubs started running the minute the ball fell. Arenado picks up the ball and gets the force at third and Dejong relays the throw to 2nd to get the force there as well. Then the umpires start saying it's an infield fly and the players begin to realize what happened. Edman, still holding the ball, quickly tags the runner who is about 5 feet off the bag at 2nd (because he thought the game was over) so it should have been over anyway. However, the 2nd base umpire called timeout and ruled the play dead (which he can't do because the play is still live with the runner off the bag). He fucked it up big time.

They ended up allowing the runners to stay at 2nd and 3rd and only awarded the one out from the infield fly. Mike Schildt was pissed and it's going to be a great Jomboy breakdown. He yelled at the 2nd base umpire several times saying "you fucked that up! you fucked that up!" Thankfully Ian Happ struck out in the next at bat so it was a moot point. I can't imagine how salty the players would have been if the streak had ended on something like that.
CNN may think my opinion matters, but you shouldn't.

Big game tomorrow! It doesn't seem right that the Yankees, Blue Jays and Red Sox are fighting for a wildcard spot with their records. Our division is too tough right now.

    I’m right here.

Sometimes it’s good to be wrong.

they finally put him in the field and now he can hit again- shocker. Most guys need to be in the field and be part of the game- he’s no different. Making someone a DH or moving their position impacts the ability to perform at the plate. at least you can justify the $ if you’re playing him. I just wasn’t ok with paying someone a ton of cash to DH and suck.

my money is there will be significant changes off-season.

I’d love to see Freddie freeman at first for the yanks and kris Bryant at 3rd. Urshela can play short just because he’s that good of a fielder. Gleyber has heated up moving back to second- shocker….might be too little too late

I’d like to see them move on from Sanchez but we will see what they do

I don’t have a lot of faith they will make good moves

They gonna be real salty when their 22 game win streak is snapped in the wild card game.

Not nearly as much as Dodger fans would be if the Cardinals beat them.

As a Cardinals fan I'm enjoying it while I can.

If LA gets beat by a team that won 22 in a row , I think I could handle that just fine.

Will 16 be a deal breaker? Their streak has to come to an end soon.
