Yesterday was a rather crazy way to extend that streak. Sometimes the baseball gods are with you

Just read on a Baltimore sports blog that when you buy Orioles tickets online they send you a survey. One of the questions is....What is your political affiliation? D,R,I or I wish to not disclose. Its out of control. Who gives a shit? I would like to ask the Orioles why they have not won a championship since 1983? And why their owner has publicly said that he will not pay big money to pitchers who only work once every five games.(Mike Mussina)

Is "Go fuck yourself"? one of the available options to the survey?

just started reading part of an article about that - closed before realising there was more and didn't get back to it. How about asking me about shit you might not like the answers to - like how I feel about some of the recent (and not so recent) rule tinkering (or how come a once proud franchise like the Orioles now flounders helplessly)

When Mike Stanton is putting the bat on the ball, his HRís leave the park incredibly quickly.

If you're talking about Giancarlo Stanton, I agree.

I highly doubt the same pertained to Mike Stanton.

Retired the last 19 batters he faced. 3rd straight start with 14K's or more (joining Pedro & Gerrit Cole). No one has done it 4 times. Next start is at Philly.

Oh, and he lowered his ERA to 0.31.

Oh jeez. LOL. That was what he was called when he first came into the Major Leagues.

In case anyone cares, I talked to my buddy that played in the minors about the shift.

He was a good minor leaguer but not a lot of pop, played in the wrong era.

    https://www.baseball-reference.com/r...d=coughl001kev

I am not going to get this right, but he said he could have hit to the opposite field, and that even on inside pitches there are ways to hit the opposite field, you just need to have more than one swing.

He said most guys now don't, they only have one swing, a home run swing. He used Chris Davis of the O's as an example, saying the he has one swing, and when he is one, you know he is hitting for power to right center. When he isn't on, he's maybe one of the easiest outs in the league.

He said that he had multiple swings that he would use in different situations, hated striking out and only wanted to put it in play.

By the way, as an aside, he was nominated for an ESPY during the strike year, but he didn't win it. Has a double throw out at 3rd from right field. Guy on first, single to right, runner on first tries to make it to third, Kev guns him out, the hitter tries to stretch to 2nd on the throw to third, 3rd baseman overthrows 2nd, KC get the overthrow and guns him done at third. Was pretty cool. I can remember his girlfriend at the time (ow wife) hosting a party to watch the ESPY's.

God, life was so simple then.

To go along with our buddy on here Hack, KC hates hitting coaches talking launch angle and exit velocity, drives him nuts.

Put the bat on the ball. A simple concept that not many do anymore. I see too many guys with 2 strikes try to hit the ball to the moon.
