Aren't Ed and Dave both playing on Angel Eyes? Been awhile since I listened to it actually.

Show No Mercy and No More Waiting are great.

Default Five demos that should be on a VAN HALEN album!

I just thought it was Dave but I could be wrong. Again Iím just not a huge fan of the song so I donít know. It does sound like thereís definitely two guitars on it I just didnít know one was Ed.

Lol I think you might be right. Again, its been a long time since I listened to my Magic Mountain cd.

And I always thought Angel Eyes was recorded at the same time as the early studio recordings of IASR and TYWH, so I always thought Ed was playing one of the two guitars on that track. Plus, I always thought it would've been cool to work Al and Mike into the song on drums and bass, made it a little longer and also have Ed play some electric parts. They did that and I think that song could've fit on WACF.

If memory serves, they considered Angel Eyes for VHII but thought it didn't fit the flow of the album, and that was it.

Not sure if it was going to be an updated version or still just an acoustic ballad.

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

I believe you are correct. Angel Eyes sounds like it was written after Dave had been listening to Led Zeppelin III.

Correct. I remember reading that years ago, too.

Angel Eyes is ok. But there are so many other demos I would prefer on albums before that song.

    This.

I liked it at first because it was so different than anything VH has done, but yeah, it's pretty generic.

Would fit right in on a Trixter or Firehouse album.

I was a little bummed they rewrote this tune on ADKOT. Dave should have never changed the lyrics. Full of hooks. The Beats Workin' version sucks in comparison, imo.

"He's young and she's crazy,,, when you in love you ain't lazy... NOooo!". Vintage Dave.
And that run--up... "And it gets to be about that tiiime..". Etc..
    It's fucking great.

    Big Trouble's also awesome.

    Angel Eyes,,, meh.

I think if I had to pick five that didnít make it to an album in some form Iíd go with these. Let it be known that I donít like any of the redone demos that are on ADKOT except for Sheís The Woman, but I wonít count those original demos in my list. Iím also not counting songs that have parts taken from them for other songs, like Voodoo Queen or Get The Show On The Road.

    We Die Bold
    Light In The Sky

Same here, but it was just an inconsequential part (the bridge) of GTSORT too. "Voodoo Queen" the whole song was used. In 3 different songs, particularly 1.

What? Nooooo. The mood is so much more melancholic than a late '80s/early '90s pussy ballad.

The verse vocal melody and lyrics are hands down better in POTL with the "Fast Eddies" and "Sexy Sadies," but I like BW's chorus melody more.
