I agree with this list but think Apolitical Blues should be last.

I think the best live cover was Beer Drinkers and He’ll Raisers. Mississippi Queen is a close second...

Ice Cream Man is my favorite cover. Followed by Big Bad Bill (Is Sweet William Now) then Where Have All the Good Times Gone.

So I don't agree with their order.

I would flip Ice Cream Man and You're No Good to #2 and #3 respectively. You Really Got Me is EASILY their best cover. They took an already iconic song and completely demolished it while making it their own.

I would rank Big Bad Bill higher. I always loved that tune. It showed a totally different side of VH and of course Jan played on it...which was Dave's idea.

    Summertime Blues was great!!

If they are talking on a release, I loved their rendition of Won’t Get Fooled Again.

Yeah, YRGM has to be #1. As Coulda said, it became theirs.

Personally, I'd have WHATGTG, YNG and ICM topping the list.

BDAHR...man did they Van Halenize songs and that was one of their best. Still think as far as the non-album songs go "Summertime Blues" was the best.

It's probably my least favorite Van Halen song but it WAS cool that they released a real blues song. For that reason it seemed right. "Coulda" chose something better though...

I would have You Really Got Me, Won’t Get Fooled Again, and Ice Cream man in my top 3.

The order on this list is horrendous. I don’t see how in the hell A Apoltical Blues isn’t last. And no idea how in the hell Dancin In The Streets is in front of Won’t Get Fooled Again?
    SOME VH LINKS CLASSICS

"Sammy is fat, Dave is bald, Mike is next in line to be the Pope, Eddie is a drunk, Wolfie is fat, Gary is gay, CVH is VH, Mike is VH, Sammy can outsing Dave on a tequilla hangover, Eddie is a meth head, How Many Say I is the worst VH song ever, Up for Breakfast is a close second, Dave was horrible at radio and everybody hates the assless chaps.
Ok I think that covers everything." Ziggysmalls

"I sense that some of our newer passengers may be nervous due to the sudden turbulence. Please be seated, this is simply a normal part of the periodic ride.
I didn't say we'll get to the destination, but until Alex comes out a says what a complete waste of carbon DLR is, we're still climbing, so strap yourselves in.
Those of you who have been on this ride before, the hottie in the mini will be around shortly with your drinks......." Red

You Really Got Me and Ice Cream Man are right at the top for me. If we're counting non-album songs, give me their version of Lucille over anything.

I agree when it comes to the first four, although sometimes I like YNG more than YRGM. Plus, I always liked AAB. Not the best blues ever, but an OK song.

    For me:

    10. "Dancing in the Street" (Martha and the Vandellas) (in the vault of songs that should have never been put on an album

    9. "(Oh) Pretty Woman" (Roy Orbison)

    8. "Big Bad Bill (Is Sweet William Now)"

    7. "Happy Trails"

    6. "Won’t Get Fooled Again"

    5. "A Apolitical Blues"

    4. "Where Have All the Good Times Gone" (The Kinks)

    3. "Ice Cream Man" (John Brim)

    2. "You’re No Good" (Dee Dee Warwick)

    1. "You Really Got Me" (The Kinks)
"If it sounds good, it is good" - Eddie Van Halen, 1981

"If you ever speak to me like that again, you better be wearing a cup" - EVH, 1996
