Well, besides the tapping and all the other techniques this actually has some swing.

    Hummm ... Trixter?

Steve Brown has the chops - IMHO, he can really play that good. But he copies EVH a lot.

Awesome reading all the like minded tastes out there. Love White Lion's Vito and hated singer. Saw them open for ACDC in Winnipeg when I was in grade 7 or 8 in Winnipeg at first big concert. Even the Mr. Mr. Or Billy Ocean references. I heard the old Cory Hart tune a while back and thought it was a case of "play me a Van Halen solo in my pop song". I love hearing the vh influence in others because it sure works for me. I'm still willing to pop evh style solos into ANY song. I recognize that nobody does it like Eddie but I so appreciate the influence.

They used to call him Vito Van Halen back in his early days in Staten Island. He was never bashful about displaying his Ed influence. I heard an interview where Mike Tramp said if he didn't prod Vito into writing tunes and getting out there on stage Vito would have stayed in his basement playing Van Halen tunes. I know there was some bad blood between the two for several years but they talk now. Vito has been having some issues with his hands for years.

Don't even get me started with that riff. Everybody thought Nuno was lifting Unchained back in the day. Now that little midget bastard calls it a tribute. lol.

Come on, you guys haven't mentioned this band yet?

In all fairness Mick Sweda is a very good guitar player and Marq was/is flamboyant, cough, but had great pipes. You think he liked Roth?

Because it probably was a tribute. Nuno adored Eddie.

For me, nobody can compete with Ed' in tapping.
But if i had to name a guitarist after him, it would be Paul Gilbert ! Without a doubt.
