Not so sure about that. If he did this with Rihanna or Drake or anybody in the Top 40, than yes absolutely.

But heís been working and getting gigs post-2015.

Thatís a fair point, but Iíll bet his actions have hurt his business as well. EVH is as big a name in popular music history as it gets. Regardless of age and current relevance. All genres are aware of VH.
Itís alarming to me that AB didnít have something in writing or collect a monthly payment. I donít care what business your in. There has to be periodic payment.
AB - poor business acumen and apparently a lousy person

Yeah, I donít understand that either. Especially considering he wasnít a huge fan and he could see the state Ed was in.

I would have been hounding for a contract.

I've worked "at risk" before, without a contract, but it was only because I knew the contract details were being worked out and it was short term that I would be at risk.
If I don't respond to you it means I have you on ignore, which means you are a douchenozzle.

I imagine if your boss was swigging wine from the bottle while wearing shoes that barely made it through the Great Depression....might have lessened the trust factor.

I guess the only question that I have at this point is how Permuted Press functions? Obviously if the content is illegal, canít they be held accountable as well?

Noel Monk went almost 6 years through VH's greatest period without a contract.

Confirms my belief that Noel Monk is an idiot.

He wasn't paid though. So, how does that factor into the equation initially, pre-settlement? Surely, the "we didn't have a contract" is not a one way street. If it's to be assumed that it was a WFH without anything in writing than AB was entitled to assume that he was going to be paid for his work, without anything in writing stating as such. And we know he wasn't until it went before the courts, 8 years later.

For as many problems as this guy obviously has, nobody will be able to convince me that this wasn't a case of a corporation (EVHL) taking advantage of a relatively unknown photographer. If that wasn't the case, they would have paid him in 07' and been done with it. Being a drug addict doesn't preclude you from being paid what you're rightfully owed upon completion of work.

I'm also perplexed as to why he settled for $7000. Thats literally 1/10 what he should have been paid for this work at minimum. 3 years of work, virtually day in/day out. Any decent lawyer would have been able to argue that he was owed a whole hell of a lot more by an entity such as EVHL.

I'm sure there's more to this, that we're never going to hear about. I can't imagine any publisher would have come within 100 ft of this guy if they felt it was a lawsuit waiting to happen. Their lawyers would have done their dd.
Mitch he wasnít unknown at all, he was actually very well-known in the industry which is why he was recommended to Ed by Glen Ballard. He produced several documentaries for other bands. You need to get your facts straight on this man. He wasnít some unknown photographer.

Iím aware of all that. I shouldnít have said ďrelatively unknownĒ.

Iím not sure how that relates to the fact he worked and was screwed out of payment for 8 years, though.

Iíve already said repeatedly that he should have drawn up a contract before or shortly after the work commenced. Heís an idiot for many reasons and thatís one of em. His irresponsibility as a business owner doesnít negate the fact that they basically told him to ďFuck offĒ after he had worked for them for 3 years.
