I was impressed with the sound this guy got from a $400 Peavey Vypyr. Hands and ears matter the most.

Those old tube Vypyrs are actually nice sounding amps. I have the 120 watt 2x12 tube combo version that I bought used for dirt cheap a long time ago just to mess with at home. It buries any of the new low cost combo modelers in terms of sound. I don't play through it much at all because I have other amps, both cheap and expensive, but I was surprised by how good it sounds.

Nobody here has gotten one yet? Are you guys waiting for the stimulus checks in the mail or what?
I still canít understand why anyone would buy a MicroPitch since it only does the post 1989 sounds and the H9 does that plus the classic Van Halen Eventide sounds from 1981-1989 and everything else under the sun.

Maybe guys arenít looking for that. I think more people are interested in the whole Balance thing when they think of these pedals.

To each their own obviously. I tend to think most people are totally unaware that the MicroPitch only does the post 1989 sounds. Sooo many people keep asking if the individual MicroPitch pedal will do the classic Van Halen sounds and they are just unaware that it doesnít.

Either way, it still doesnít make any sense why someone would buy the MicroPitch when the H9 isnít that much more expensive and does what the MicroPitch does and so much more.

Someone who doesn’t need all the other algorithms the H9 offers...at ALL...(most of us already own our favorite Effects units & vintage or new boxes), and the Micropitch does EXACTLY what they want it to do, and in a hands-on format featuring nobs, they’re probably going to save the extra $130 and buy another extra stompbox, etc with that.

I’m not sure as many people on here are using the same relatively low-gain amps or sounds (by today’s standards) as you and I are. They like the classics, but are playing through EVH 5150s, Peaveys, etc. Someone that is happy w/ that sound isn’t going to lose sleep over using the Micropitch algorithm instead of the 910 or 949 algorithm, which what I’m assuming you’re referring to re: pre-Carnal Knowledge tones.

There are many people (I’m not one of them, since I managed to dial-down the H9’s output), who return their H9s because it wasn’t designed to work with a line-level signal. The newer Eventide pedals offer the guitar/line level switch, which is a deal breaker for some. Perhaps I would’ve had issues too if I weren’t playing through a Marshall with Van Halen II levels of gain.....I don’t know.

I have a Pitchfactor. I believe it is from 2010 or so. The other ones probably did not exist then, I remember it was the only option and was very expensive. Was worth it tho

It has a switch for line/guitar level and has both Micropitch (H3000) and the 910/949

I am setting up a new home studio and will record some stuff using that and a Peavey 6505 through greenbacks and/or through a Palmer PDI03 simulator. Can do some demos and post here

The video I posted earlier here was using the Micropitch but with ADA MP-1 as the amp
