Default Paul Stanley talks Eddie Van Halen on the Anniversary of Van Halen's Debut

    Published on Feb 10, 2021

The Jeremy White Podcast presents Paul Stanley from KISS!

On February 10th 1978, Van Halen released their iconic debut album! Paul Stanley talks about seeing Van Halen in LA and how he didn't think it was a good idea for their manager to sign them... we also discuss how Eddie Van Halen influenced the scene and picking the next guitar player for KISS.

Also, was Eddie Van Halen ever supposed to join KISS?

Interesting! I don't know that I've ever heard Paul refer to Randy Rhoads in any interview. Cool!

    Cool clip....Thanks for posting it...

Kind of unrelated, but the same guy in this clip made a cool video on Ed's wet/dry/wet tone not too long ago and is worth checking out...

The tone he gets is amazing...

If you have nothing nice to say about Eddie Van Halen, you're at the right website. - Me (A few years ago)

"People take Van Halen much more seriously than we do" - David Lee Roth (1980's)

"I don't sit on the end of your bed while you're trying to make a living" - David Lee Roth (1988)

"For some reason people love to complain about everything. The internet has made it easy for people to do that. Shut the fuck up and get a life, or show me how good you can do it."- Edward Van Halen

"A lot of people ask me which Van Halen singer was better. You can't compare them. It's like asking which guitarist is better. Nobody is better than anybody. Every player is their own person."-Edward Van Halen

"I do like Eddie Van Halen as a player. He gets it right quite often." -Paul McCartney

Unlike Gene at times, I find that Paul comes off really well in interviews.

Agree with what Blind said. He's seems so candid and frank in interviews, which is a bit surprising in that he threw everyone under the bus in his book.
Expected him to equivocate on pandering to the shred era, but he completley cops to it. Mark St. John was obviously a reaction to that phenomenon.
