The first reunion tour with Sammy in 2004, my buddy and I got the "5-star package" tickets for the show .. second row seats and the soundcheck, among other things, were included .. during the soundcheck, Eddie takes out a cigarette, and my buddy decides to shout up to him, "Eddie, can I have that cigarette?!" .. Ed looks right down at us, and goes "Sure", and hands my buddy the cigarette, then takes out another one for himself. Talk about a unique piece of "memorabilia" .. my buddy quit smoking years ago, but even if he hadn't, needless to say, there was no way in hell he was ever gonna smoke that thing .. he still has the cigarette in a little cylindrical glass case to this day. Being that close to the King, and him handing that cig right down to my buddy was certainly a moment I'll never forget. Just so damn cool. Can't believe that was 17 years ago.
"One of the reasons I left Sabbath was because Van Halen was blowing us off the stage every night. It was embarrassing." -Ozzy Osbourne

"When I first heard "Runnin' With The Devil" on the radio, I was stunned and found myself dizzy, walking through my high school hallways thinking, "What was THAT?!"
Eddie Van Halen was so innovative and kicked so much ass, and David Lee Roth was for a time indisputably the Greatest Man in America.
If aliens came down and challenged us to a Battle of the Bands to decide the fate of Planet Earth, I would feel very confident putting early Van Halen forward as our champion." -Tom Morello

"A lot of bands mature, which means they get square; they start delivering messages. Hey, you got a message, use Western Union." -DLR

"I could call it anything, but the only word I can think of is Brown. It's just a warm sound. Warm, big, majestic" - Eddie Van Halen on his Tone

"Van Halen is definitely a ladies band, and Ive got the Polaroids to prove it". - David Lee Roth

WOLFGANG did the IMPOSSIBLE, he brought back VAN HALEN, DEAL WITH IT.

So many memories...too many to type here. One thing for sure though; seeing my now 14 year old daughter get all into this great music; Van Halen, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Led Zeppelin.....I get goosebumps sometimes; I can really appreciate Ed's want for Wolf to be in the band and grow.

Now that we are older when my brother and I talk about it he tells me he recalls getting the same feeling when he introduced me to VH and I took off with it.

All in the family over here.
    It's 5150 time!
