And i do love EWS!

But the solo is more a clever musical interlude, melodic enhancement.
Not really a solo-solo.

But what he plays is memorable & fits.

ATBL part II? Huh?

Anyhow, my two all time favorite tunes. Solo for sure goes to Romeo Delight, although the solo in EWS is great, too.

I go back and forth between Everybody Wants Some!! and Romeo Delight. Those 2 songs and In A Simple Rhyme are probably all in my top 10 Van Halen tunes.

Everything is relative. We parse these songs given it's our favorite band and we've heard the songs a million times. To Joe-Schmo, the gang vocal that is the chorus and the name of the tune with about the same number of syllables on top of a very similar riff makes them at least superficially, very similar. songs Don't get me wrong, I love EWS with the opening section and the tribal drums, the screaming guitar during the verses, etc. but compared to Romeo, I find EWS to be more of the typical VH formula.

Everybody Wants Some!! and Hot For Teacher are a couple of songs that just exude everything that made the original version of Van Halen so awesome.

I always felt like "Romeo Delight" was a precursor to the Fair Warning album. The production and tone is different between WACF and FW (..FW was the first album IMO where Ed's guitar had a little more low-end grunt to it..at least compared to the first 3 albums), but as a song Romeo Delight has that darker aggression to it that would have fit on Fair Warning quite easily.
