I am not a huge Gene fan but I do find his comments since Eddie's passing interesting. Kind of has changed my mindset of him. Its him being Gene the person instead of Gene, one of the CEO's of KISS

Onto House of Pain. I just never cared for the demo. Lately have been seeing a lot of love for it but as others say, 1984 is just a better arrangement. Regardless of the production quality, playing ability, etc. The outro section is just so cool. Eddie didn't really get into overdubbing but his overdubbing on 1984 was great. Hey if you like the demo better that is cool. I just find it to be a hot mess with the car horns, overdubbing, Dave doing a pseudo Gene Simmons impression of saying "painnnnn"

Sometimes in crisis situations a completely new side of a person opens up for us. When this side surprises in a positive sense, then very often you change your opinion about this person. It's just that during a pandemic, when everyone was in a crisis situation, so much rubbish got out of people that the list of friends was sharply reduced.
