NHL 20/21 Season Thread - Let's give Covid a game misconduct

I've got to imagine that if one player gets it that pretty much all of them are going to get it unless they happened to catch it before they get together as a group. It doesn't take much for it to spread up and down the bench during a game. Let's face it, hockey players aren't exactly known for hygiene--there's a reason why hockey equipment has the reputation it does, so I can only imagine how easy it would be to spread. When you see guys sharing water bottles, spitting all over the place during games, etc., I'm frankly shocked that there are incidents where only one player gets it.

There are a few other factors that most fans aren't looking at. There is great ventilation in these Arenas, almost like being outside. They are keeping a close eye on building management. Same thing at most local hockey rinks, that is why you haven't seen wide spread breakouts. Yes there have been some, but it has been manageable. Isolate players or teams, cancel a few games, move on.

You can also adjust humidity. Having humidity between 40% to 50% helps a ton to reduce spread.

They are also not sharing water bottles. Spitting is reduced...haha... At the local ice rinks, you can't spit on ice at all......lol...

Anyone else getting worried about all of the cancelled games? We had COL scheduled for this weekend until they got hit with Covid protocols, so now we're facing the Yotes for the 4th time in a row. Now the Wild had to postpone their game against the Blues. What the heck? I don't see how they get all these games in at this point if they don't plan on extending the season. Maybe the Coyotes can stay for a full 6 game tilt?

I don't care how much they are adjusting the humidity and airflow, if you have someone that is infected with Covid breathing heavy from an intense shift in your huddle after a goal or sitting next to you on the bench, you're going to get it. I also find it funny the coaches are wearing their masks during the game, and then you see them pull it down to yell at the referee as they lean over the players on the bench. I've seen that at least once a game on both benches.

I'm just hoping they can keep the lid on long enough for the players to start getting vaccines to come playoff time we won't have any issues.
