Merry Christmas to all you vhlinkers, families and friends.

First Christmas my entire life I will be spending it all alone.

I'm OK with it for one year, I guess (I hope)... no big buffet to cook this year... didn't have to bother cleaning the house... no tree or lights... only bought one gift for my friends family and gave it already.

So tonight I'm just gonna get drunk, put on a good buzz and rock out (***) until I get bored and go to bed. Tomorrow sleep in, make some pizza and watch a good movie or binge a good series.

Just gotta make sure that this doesn't become the normal Christmas in the waning years.

***I'm thinking of a Christmas Eve Video Fight maybe for later... but with a rule or two... no total dumping of every song under the sun for hours upon hours. Lol! We'll see.

I been alone for many Christmas. It's not bad with a computer. Was my mothers birthday so bums me out. I'm a hermit anyway. Peace on Earth.

Happy holidays everyone! Kinda of a depressing Christmas since my family is unable to spend it with our extended family, but we are making the most of it.

Same. I've not celebrated a Christmas in 6 years. The desire is gone once mom passed. Just another day to me.

Been keeping it going at my house since mom passed in 2002, but last year started showing cracks. My brother came alone since his wife was caring for her sister who had a knee operation two weeks earlier (BS that I won't get into), but she came for about an hour or so later. Their grown daughter came with a boyfriend and stayed just long enough to make it feel like she'd rather be somewhere else... and the grown son just said he didn't feel like coming over at all and stayed home. Seriously... I get the kids in their early 20's feeling that way... we all go through it.

So I'll miss my buddy and his wife, my sister and an old friend of ours that always get a rousing card game going and eat and drink all day. The five of us always have a really good time when we get together.

REALLY gonna miss the cabbage rolls that I took over making from my mom and she from her mom before. I'll make them next week for New Years... but this is probably the first Christmas since I was a little kid that they won't be on the menu.

I got off work at 10am today and stopped and got a nice beef roast I'm making now. There's a big storm expected and I might as well have some decent food prepared in case the power goes out again for many hours like the last two storms in the past couple of months.

You still got a little left though. I don't even put up a tree or decorate. For me, the big thing is meal. What am I gonna eat. I'm not a Grinch though. A lot of it has to do with my circumstances. A change of scenery would bring it all back I think. We'll see...

When I get drunk enough today I'll probably go down in the basement and bring up my tiny 3ft tree that already decorated and covered in plastic... but I hope not... I'm no Grinch either and far from feeling melancholy this year. Lol. Merry Christmas CC!
