Gene Simmons on original demos

What a gentleman Gene is. So apparently he gave the original 24 track tapes to the Van Halen camp before Ed passed. A collectors edition of that might interest people at some point.

Gene on Dave... well, first of all he said Ed is unlike anyone ever but before continuing said Dave was THE frontman then and said "I mean at that time Dave was_the_king. There was nobobdy....if Jagger stood next to him it would be like ya know...sixth grader". Then he continued on about Ed, but props to him to through Daves due in there. Sixth grader lol, I love it.

and Gene says Ed did such a good solo on the song that he made Ace play it note for note on the record.

Has Ed and Al ever talked about it?

DLR was in the studio with them, he just wasn't on it, so he's talked about it, and Gene's talked about it. But Ed and Al never have that I can recall.

I can confirm this is the demo. My buddy did the Gene demo stuff a few years back and he has the 3 demos with Eddie on it.

So do your best to copy the audio from it because likely Gene will be taking it down

It almost sounds like Ed is playing some slide guitar on there. It is a very restrained Ed on the track, but if it is him it's a nice melodic fill he came up with.
If they have the 24 track master to the demos, then you could put out a very good, remixed version of all that stuff. It's up to the Van Halen camp I guess at some point.
