Threaded Inserts for EVH Wolfgang

The neck on my wolfgang std is not as stable as I would like, there is one sloppy screw, and I am thinking of adding some threaded inserts. The bamboo toothpick and glue trick has not held up.

Has anyone here gone through that particular procedure themselves? I've done plenty of guitar assembly, refins and building, but have never set a neck with threaded inserts. I've watched some videos on you tube but that's about it.

Mainly wondering about exact parts you used and of course how it turned out.

I wouldn't do that. I know you mentioned a toothpick but you can get a small dowel rod but much bigger than a toothpick. Match a drill bit to the size and drill out the screw hole in the neck and glue in the dowel. Let it dry then trim off the excess dowel and sand smooth. This will do the trick! Done it many times and works every time.
