Will be interesting to see if it sells for that much.

How much did they sell for when they were being sold during the tour, again? $10-15,000?

Gotta say, if they start going for $30-50,000 I’d consider selling mine. It’s a hell of a memorabilia piece not to mention the sentimental value they hold, now that Ed’s gone, but for a $20,000 clean profit? I’d probably have to consider it.

If I actually owned one, that is.

I'm probably wrong, but I thought that the bidding was starting at $5,150 on eBay when they were being auctioned off. They obviously generally went much higher than that.

I think $10k was the low and ~$70k was the high (for one of the NYC guitars). Average was probably above the $20k mark. I remember being stunned when one of my favorites from a show I went to sold for only $10k.

One went for $70,000????? I have no recollection of that.

I guess I underestimated the prices because at the time $10-15,000 sounded like an unimaginable price to pay for a guitar.

That was before I liked Gibsons....

I may be crazy but I feel like I remember one off the NYC guitars selling for something crazy like that. $50-$70k. Supposedly one of the ones Adam Sandler bought.

    That’s wild.

Not that Sandler cares but that guitar ain’t gonna be worth any more than that anytime soon.

The NY guitars sold for $50k each. Most went for between 10-15k. The guy that just sold the Texas one that Dimebag played backstage has 20 of them that he is selling or has sold. He had one of the NY ones up for $70k last week.
I used to jog but the ice cubes kept falling out of my glass.

    Makes sense. They were investments.

That being said if you have the dough to buy 20+ guitars at $10-15,000 a pop, do you really care about your ROI sixteen years down the line?
