Is that the show where Eddie’s rig blew up about the 3rd song in and the crowd sang him happy birthday?

It's been literally a couple decades since I last listened to the audio bootleg of this broadcast. Alex is almost unrecognizable without shades, shirt or a hat - he looks more like Keannu Reeves.

Man, Sam had three tough ones out of the gate: The Seventh Seal, Judgment Day, and DTMWLCD. Ed's so smooth.

this is a great show. They did 2 of these and I think the other show was better. they sound great IMHO. Sam's voice isn't in touring shape yet but he did a decent job.

I love that blue EBMM Ed’s playing at this show. And Mike’s bass is very sweet too....In fact, it’s nice hearing Mike so clearly in the mix in this clip. Anyone know what Bass model and brand Mike’s playing? Fender, perhaps?

This show, along with the 2 club shows in Milan, Italy later the same week, were the last times Judgement Day was ever played live. Damn shame. One of the best VH songs, regardless of era.

And that EBMM is purple, not blue. Same one used on the first leg of the Balance tour when Ed was doing the "Close Encounters From The Third Kind" intro for his solo. He popped in a Fernandes Sustainer in place of the stock neck pickup during the downtime to get that sound.

Looks like EBMM based on 3+1 headstock.

3 days after balance was released

man i remember this time very well considering i was 12 years old. i distinctly remember the first time i heard the opening riff to DTMWLCD on MTV and had one of those moments where you're just blown away in awe. thought it was the coolest sounding shit ever.

if CDs could wear out, I would've worn mine out that winter/spring.

really wish i could've seen this version of vh with sammy. i only got to catch them in 2004.
