There was contact between Sam and Al maybe five years ago on the phone. Sam spoke about it. On Trunk’s show if I remember correctly.

"Come Closer" eh? It must have just been some of the vocal parts because I couldn't see Smoke emulating any of the music. Was "Someday" in the Balance sessions for sure? I know he did it live acoustically on the tour. Never heard of "Baby Come Down" though. Remember where you heard about that?

Sammy didnt talk with Ed until 2020 a year after the 2019 tour was cancelled. So entirely different scenario.

I do agree it would be a good idea though whether David likes it or not they have a multi ptatinum history with Sammy & it'd be a good way to go out much more hoopla & whatnot.
Yeah I have a hard time seeing Dave doing the Kitchen Sink with Sam and Gar, especially after the original four initial idea. But the only thing you know for certain is, hey, you never know.

Eddie Trunk knew damn well the story of Lopez calling Sam & Sam reaching out to Eddie, which has been out for a month and got headlines everywhere, but he had to pretend he hadn't heard about it so he could pretend he was getting the scoop first. What an utter cunt.

Yeah, I would think it'd be kind of jumbled....after 2 songs, the singer and the audience are just getting into it and then they stop and change singers?

I think a better idea would be for one or the other to open and play for, let's say 30 minutes. Do your thing.
Then the next guy for 30-45 minutes. THEN they can start alternating, but give us a good dose of each guy first, before we start going back and forth.

Plus, since they're both older now, they can go hard for that 30-45 then take a break for a bit, might keep them on top of their games as compared to doing say, 1.5 hrs at a time.
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em. -

It's a stupid idea period. There are simply too many classic songs from the Roth era compared to the Hagar era. You start with Cherone, go to Hagar and end with Dave. That's the only way it would work. It didn't happen and was not definite anyway, so why speculate on this?

And why is Sammy now saying he and Ed were going to write new songs? So we are to believe that the Van Halens were going to kick Dave out again after Dave stood by for 5 years, hoping his friend would recover?

Why is Sammy Hagar on this endless campaign to be the lead singer of a group that does not exist anymore? "We were gonna right songs see? I was gonna be the guy again! Look at me!"
WTF is a matter with him? And why is anybody paying attention to that douchebag Trunk?

Dude, Ed was probably texting from a hospital bed, getting chemo and radiation therapy. So yes, writing songs with Sammy must've sounded like a friggin walk in the park compared to the hell he was going through. It's all a matter of perspective. His perspective changed, his circumstances were different. He was talking to Donn Landee again on a regular basis, which is not something that was happening before. A lot of things seem to have been different in the last year of his life.

Obviously none of us know for sure, but I think it’s pretty safe to say that Dave and Ed weren’t friends. There are all kinds of public comments about this from Ed, Dave, and Wolf.

Also, it seems like 2017 was when Ed got the lung cancer diagnosis, and then brain cancer in 2019. Dave didn’t wait around 5 years for Ed to recover. It’s was more like 2. He had some sort of conversation in 2019 with them that made him believe they weren’t going out on tour anymore, or anytime soon, so Dave set up his own thing for 2020.
    SOME VH LINKS CLASSICS

"Sammy is fat, Dave is bald, Mike is next in line to be the Pope, Eddie is a drunk, Wolfie is fat, Gary is gay, CVH is VH, Mike is VH, Sammy can outsing Dave on a tequilla hangover, Eddie is a meth head, How Many Say I is the worst VH song ever, Up for Breakfast is a close second, Dave was horrible at radio and everybody hates the assless chaps.
Ok I think that covers everything." Ziggysmalls

"I sense that some of our newer passengers may be nervous due to the sudden turbulence. Please be seated, this is simply a normal part of the periodic ride.
I didn't say we'll get to the destination, but until Alex comes out a says what a complete waste of carbon DLR is, we're still climbing, so strap yourselves in.
Those of you who have been on this ride before, the hottie in the mini will be around shortly with your drinks......." Red
