Wolf, I'm glad the assholes are reaching out to you and apologizing, but just know that most of this site recognized your contribution to the 2007 comeback and it was the minority that had stupid shit to say. But none of that matters anymore, you're still so young and there is so much ahead for you to accomplish on your own.

We all loved your dad's band and while your future has nothing to do with that, he left you a springboard to take advantage of -- so you might as well jump.

WTF dude? I've said it before, internet is the death of CONTEXT. You're taking that quote out of its context. If you compared 15 year old Wolfie joining the band in 2007 with veteran bassist Michael Anthony, you could say one is a bass player, the other is a guitar player who switched to bass for a tour, hence not a bass player per se. Plus you have to remember the circumstances of Mike's dismissal, which weren't pretty.
But even at the height of the 2007 criticism, most people here were quick to point out that Wolf wasn't to blame. He's not the one who made the decision.
Moreover I don't think Van Halen fans can be expected to have guessed some of the personal stuff going on which we are only learning now. They were not communicating and wanted their reasoning to remain under wraps.

Lol! I apologize for nothing I’ve ever said about Wolf. Sorry if anyone is expecting me to. If I said that I had a very good reason to in my mind. I don’t know who this metalsludge character is but if he’s that dork that runs that really lame website making fun of 80s metal bands, he’s one of the biggest hypocrites around and also unfunny. So I really don’t care what he thinks about me. I have no problem owning up to anything I’ve ever posted on here.

I’ve never hid any of my feelings about how Mike was treated and how Wolf took over his position. And I never will.

I haven’t done anything wrong towards Wolfgang, nor have a stalked him around and berated him on the net and social media like so many other assholes have. I said my feelings about situations on MY OWN website and left it alone after that. If people can’t handle that I felt a certain way about him back then, then they can leave. Sorry to be blunt about this. Most of you guys know my feelings about everything anyway.

I didn’t read this interview, but if he doesn’t want the support of this website, it’s ok. I didn’t create this website for him, I created it for Van Halen the band. Not just his dad.

I think we’ve done a lot of good for him and everyone associated with the band for 21 years, but if he doesn’t think so that’s fine. Life goes on folks. I enjoyed meeting him in 2012 and my wife really liked taking a picture with him. So whatever. And to be honest guys they’ve never really acknowledged we exist anyway except for Dave’s people who reached out to us in 2012 to be part of the media shows. Just remember Van Halen didn’t do that for us, Dave did. The VHND has always gotten the glory that way, and you know it’s probably a good thing actually.

I feel horrible for him that his father died because I just had my father die who was my hero too so I know EXACTLY how he feels. I think about my dad every day and I’m sad almost every day. Just like him I’m sure. I already said I wasn’t even that big of a fan of the song that I heard but I appreciate how good of a musician he is and the sentiment, so I don’t know how much more honest I can be about Wolfgang and my feelings on him. I wish him success. I was glad to see him atop the iTunes list. That’s all I’ve got to say.

So we can stop posting about me now and go back to what this topic was about. I appreciate you guys sticking up for me but there’s no reason to. Thank you.

I was just joking Brett. The way of the world is now people getting shit for things they said decades ago and then apologizing for because of being publicly ostracized, which is one of the most annoying things in the world.
