My uneducated guess would be You & Your Blues, Honeybabysweetiedoll & China Town.

    1) YAYB sounds like "One I Want" part 2, definitely Ed's late 90s/early 2000s headspace.
    2) Based on the "extraterrestrials on acid intro" description I'm convinced China Town was on VH3.2, which would make sense to revisit with Dave in 2000.
    3) The aforementioned similarities between HBSD and Flex.

September 27, 1999, The originial VHND posted an update listing 3 new song titles for the upcoming DLR album. Chinatown was one of the song titles listed.

The old entries are no longer available but I copied the text here it is.

    From VHND:

    The Return Of Ted

September 27, 1999 - David Lee Roth has just informed The Inside that he is very pleased to have Ted Templeman as the producer for his next CD.

Dave is keeping his current band and road crew for the next album and tour, both out in early 2000. John Lowery will return as the main songwriting collaborator, although Bart Walsh and Terry Kilgore may also contribute to songwriting. Walsh and Kilgore are expected to handle all guitar duties.

Twelve songs have been written so far. Working titles include Stomping Grounds, Use My Hand, I Won't Look and China Town. There will also be a surprise cover song on the new album, which is yet to be titled.

The DLR Band will head back into the studio one week after the current tour finishes (the last date is at the House of Blues in Las Vegas on October 2.)

Towards the end of this EVH interview it's mentioned that David " bought" some songs from Steve Lukather.

We know the songwriting credits don't list his name my impression was the term " bought" indicated a " ghost writer" arrangement where the material is not credited. Idk. ??? It's a trivia thing I wondered about. Could be the tunes weren't even used or maybe on a later album.

Here's the link to the interview I'm sure everyone's heard it & parts in print in Guitar Magazine.

Another thing- The supposed " In The Midnight Hour" recording is mentioned regularly all over the place....

But- I strongly believe it does not excist or if it does definetly not completed with vocals. I know Circus printed a blurb about it in 1983.

Neither Ted Templeman nor Donn Landee had any recollection about it when asked by Greg Renoff while writing the recent biography. He said there was a some kind of union related studio sheet document with the song title.

So- THIS is a topic to definetly ask when Ted does the upcoming Sunset Sound rountable discussion.
