Ed's wasn't loud like his because he modified it with the variac. IMO Ed's guitar tone on VH I is probably the best there is and a small part of that is probably because he could control his volume and still sound good. Of course the big part was that he is EVH. I hate when people try to make themselves look cool because they act like they have no clue who a famous person was/is. To me this guys sounds like he is playing things like he is too cool for the room. In reality I think it makes him sound pretty vain.

If the tapped part was out of tune, the rest of it would be. Unless they recorded it separately.
But it's not, so?

It’s not out of tune in any capacity.

I listened to it last night and while I don't have perfect pitch, I have some sense of pitch. Not out of tune. Maybe the guy doesn't understand what a phaser does?

Seems they just clipped the Fair Warning talk and put it out on its own, nothing new...

Tough crowd. I thought the guy was interesting. His comments about DTNA didn’t bother me at all.

Was thinking the same. Sensitive bunch. The guy is effusive every else in the interview about Ed both live and on record. The DTNA comment did make me scratch my head, but they were probably high at the time. Maybe it was a different take or something. Whatever. He and Ed obviously had a friendship, so I'm sure Ed got past it haha. I've had friends that have gutted me with comments about my music. I just have to remember that's their opinion and try to evaluate criticism objectively. Sure, sometimes people can try to be intentionally hurtful and you take that for what it is, but more often it opens you up to other perspectives.
Palmer was done by 82 and Robin Yount let him know it. Its in my brain too. Sent from my LGL322DL using Tapatalk
