Howard Dean is 73 years old.

Why hasn't he been asked to run?

I think Reagan is the right answer. A man who was elected when i was 6 years old. I'm currently 47. That's not good. Over the same period I'd argue the Democrats have provided 1 good president as well. This is a bipartisan shit show. Biden, for as bad as he's been, blends in well.

Reagan wouldn’t even get the GOP nomination today.

I actually got choked up when Reagan died.

He was a very rare breed, on so many levels.

While I didn't agree with all of his initiatives, he genuinely loved his Country, and his countrymen.

    There's no doubt about that.

I get it 86. But Lincoln an R freed the slaves Jan 1863 and southern D's started Jim Crow and segregation. If you where lucky enough to survive WW2 or Korea a fantastic post war economy with full employment awaited you. Plus supermarkets and home ownership with football on TV.

I've said a few times, that fundamentally, if you ask what a traditional GOP stood for, all people would be GOP....problem is, there hasn't been a strong supporter of their principles in a while - your comment on Regan is a good example of that.

I did like the first Bush.

I don't see any GOP people that would fit the bill right now... a shame, as there are likely lots of people that would do a great job.

I think HW was a very good president. He just lied about taxes which hurt him with conservatives. Also ran against the wrong guy, Clinton. He saw the recession, and dealt with it. Made a tough call to help the country. Imagine that? Didn't want to rasie taxes but had to to limit the effects of the recession. It was improving but he lost to a more charasmatic guy. Plus it was year 12 of GOP presidents. Sometimes that happens. Like McCain. Normally he should ahve won. A centrist who was respected on both sides. However he had to deal with the effects of the Great Recession and Bush having 8 years. Obama was like Clinton. Energetic guy where one could see the contrast.

I know Reagan and him couldn't win today but Clinton would be viewed as Joe Manchin today in teh Democratic party. The GOP has shifted but lets not fool ourselves that a Democrat from 1992 is the same as a Democrat ini 2022.

Bill Mahr is considered a centrist in the current Democratic party.

Anyway good old Joe wants to save us 18 cents a gallon by removing a tax. Yeah its something but there is a reason why Obama even thinks this is a joke. Its not a solution. Its a band aid. He has tunnel vision. Medium and Long term solutions are green energy and that is the only option. Short term is releasing strategic reserves or increasing our debt by removing a tax.

    Solid leadership
