When Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer hand out chocolate chip cookies to the national guard troops you can argue that. Joe is signing any executive order they hand him and all Pelosi and Schumer care about is impeaching Trump and getting COVID-19 stimulus passed to save face. Funny how Pelosi sits on the second stimulus bill for 8 months and now that Dems have total power got to move fast on it.

Out of all the Dems in DC now though Jill Biden seems like a good caring person. To bad it doesn't rub off on the rest of them. Get ready for rising gas prices as Joe and the Dems want to enrich foreign countries so we depend on oil from them instead of putting America first and they don't care if people lose their jobs.

The human body actually needs sugar to function everyday. It's when you eat sugar all day long and nothing else your pancreas starts to produce excess glucose. Over a period of time it can lead to complications like Diabetes which is a metabolic disorder. You have to eat a ton, ton of sugar a day to get diabetes and in USA it's not hard to do the stores love selling sugary, processed foods. Avoid soda with sugar, switch to diet soda it's better. If you drink coke with sugar only drink 3 or 4 a day. I know people that drink more than 12 a day. Zero sugar sodas are a better alternative but the aspartame is a bitch. As long as you sleep well, exercise, drink water and eat other food like fruit, whole grains, veggies, meat there is no harm in eating sugary foods a few times a day. All the stores in USA do is sell junk food anyway so I guess were all f**ked. It's still healthier than drinking and smoking which is a real slow killer. Some of the processed foods though over do it with sugar but it's all about money anyway. What tastes good sells. Chocolate chip cookies are money in the bank, everyone eats them. I love them. Life is to short anyway to not enjoy yourself but it's all about moderation. Jill handing out those cookies was in moderation. The food market in USA is really unhealthy if it's not to much sugar it's to much salt and high blood pressure. Were all f**ked. Go for your daily walk or treadmill and just enjoy the ride of life. Like I said in the USA market the stores just care about profit, it's all processed crap. You can eat healthy but it's going to be pricey. Anyway we have to eat food to live so Bon Appétit.

that's just human nature my friend. If I would have told you 5 years ago that you'd be in the spot you are in now, would you have considered yourself broke? If your pay was doubled tomorrow, 6 months later you'd feel the same way you do now.

This is definitely true, although if I won the lottery and didn't have to work anymore my happiness would skyrocket

My sister is a few years older than me and has done quite well in banking and she's made similar comments. As you move up the income ladder your lifestyle adjusts to fit it. If you're responsible with money when you make entry level wages, you'll be responsible with it as you move up. If you blow through your money when you first start making it, no amount will ever be enough. To follow on your point in your subsequent post about the divorce rate of upper management, that's something I've thought about in my own life as well.

Quality of life and the ability to spend time outside of work has always been one of the most important things for me. I knew I wanted a family and I knew I wanted to be with my wife as much as possible, so the idea of traveling for work or anything that would require crazy hours and commitment just wasn't in the cards. Could I have made more money if I did something else? Absolutely. However, on my death bed I don't think I'm going to be thinking about how successful my career was or could have been. I'm going to be thinking about my family, the memories we made together, the times I was present with them, etc.

My wife and I were looking through some old pictures last night of our wedding. My father in law asked us before we got married if we would rather have the money he was going to spend on the wedding in the form of a down payment on a house. Now the financial side of me definitely understands where he was coming from: why blow money with nothing to show for it when you could have equity in a home and build wealth for later on? Obviously we passed on the offer, and maybe one day I'll regret it, but I told my wife last night I wouldn't change a thing. As much as I'd love to have a bunch of extra money, the memories from that weekend are priceless to me.

I guess the bottom line is that everyone has to determine what is more important to their happiness, but generally that happiness isn't tied directly to the amount of money they make.
