Not sure how “Biden shouldn’t do this unilaterally it should be Congress” is twisted into an excuse for him to do it.

But there is a difference between initiating an action against a regime and a retaliatory strike. There just is.

Either way, Trump got plenty of excuses. “He didn’t start another war.” Yeah, but he increased our presence in each one despite claiming he was decreasing, dropped even more bombs, increased our commitment to the Saudi’s in their seeming genocide in Yemen, all while making the whole process even less transparent.

Both parties are bad on this.

I don't understand why Biden is dropping Dr. Seuss from Read Across America Day. Six Seuss books will stop publication. The other 50 or so Seuss books are not affected...as of now.
Dr. Seuss is not being cancelled. I'm not sure this is really a big deal, but I think it's silly that Dr. Seuss is being dropped from the program.

The government didn't decide to no longer publish them, the publisher did.

He has over 60 books in print, the publisher decided to stop producing six that contain racist imagery. Is that really something for us to get upset over? This isn't state sanctioned book burning, or even the cancelling of someone.

I find it to be a very measured response from the publisher.

I think Biden should have just read from one of the other books, and talked about how we can separate the art from the artist, that we are all flawed human beings, etc. etc. But it's never about that in politics, it's pandering and point keeping, which, while disappointing, we also hope the next POTUS will be above such nonsense, we shouldn't be surprised that we are disappointed.

But, it's he didn't force the publisher to stop publishing it, and there is nothing preventing some other publisher from picking up the rights to print those six books.

Not sure what the uproar is about.

Hasbro is officially renaming the MR. POTATO HEAD brand to POTATO HEAD to better reflect the full line. But rest assured, the iconic MR. and MRS. POTATO HEAD characters aren’t going anywhere and will remain MR. and MRS. POTATO HEAD.

“While it was announced today that the POTATO HEAD brand name & logo are dropping the ‘MR.’ I yam proud to confirm that MR. & MRS. POTATO HEAD aren’t going anywhere and will remain MR. & MRS. POTATO HEAD,” the company tweeted.

Hasbro appears to want to have it both ways: expand the brand, while not killing off its most iconic characters, which appeared in the “Toy Story” films.

Kimberly Boyd, a senior vice president at Hasbro, said the intention of the brand name change was to be more inclusive and to have the characters still live within the Potato Head universe.

“It created a lot of excitement,” she said about the reaction.

GLAAD, an LGBTQ advocacy group, applauded the more inclusive Potato playset.

Another recent over-hyped issue, apparently, is the disclaimer that Disney+ has put on before episodes of The Muppet Show. Again, I don't think this is a big deal. They're still airing all 100+ episodes of TMS. The Muppets weren't "cancelled" as DJTJ would have you believe.

The press release even had pictures of the new boxes which had "Potato Head" on top as the brand, but the Mister still said Mr. Potato Head at the bottom and the Misses said Mrs. Potato Head at the bottom.

I can't find any evidence that Hasbro changed their press release, and AP doesn't claim there was a change. So as far as I can tell, this all goes back to AP misinterpreting the Hasbro press release with this tweet.

They've replaced the original story with the story you quoted that places the blame on Hasbro, but without proof. Again, go to the Hasbro press release, it's crystal clear what they are doing. Unless AP can show the press release was changed, this whole thing is on them (as well as the people who repeated it without checking to see if it's true).
