I can't beleive people are defending Biden's wealth as simply his salary as a public servant.

For one, you don't take howm 176k per year. Currently 32% is gone for federal tax. So now at 120k. Wait wrong. Deleware state tax is 10k for that salary. So now 110k per year.

City tax likely would be somewhere around 4% which is another 4k. So that 176k now is 69k off that 175k. Hmm call it 70k. So now 105k net. Even if he made it for 36 years, its now a litle over 3 million take hom.

Obviously expenses take up quite a bit of that. He also owns 4 homes so upkeep for those with taxes, association fees, landscaping, etc

The guy likely is like many politicians and takes money on the side. Issue is he has a crack head son who benefited from Ukraine and China dealings. Emails and other eviddence stating that its likely Joe got a cut. Doesn't mean Trump and others are not guitly of shady shit. Just this guy is currently our preisdent and we have some events occurring with Ukraine and China

But how much did a house cost in friggin delaware in 1970? Probably around 100K (that's just a guess). And then the value must have increase 7 or 8 fold over 40 years. So I find his numbers logical. In 2007, right before becoming vice-president, he was the second poorest senator. Those number are official number that anyone can consult. There are MANY other senators that made vastly more money than him from taking money from corporations. A majority of them are on the republican side. So there are a lot of other trees you need to bark up first before you get to biden if you're looking at corrupt senators.

I would also say that the cost of running a campaign is now so out of control that you almost have to be a millionaire to run for the Senate. Knowing human nature, only added regulations will take money out of politics. Don't count on politicians to voluntarily give up on money.

Simple math, dude.

How much does a senator make? 174K per year.
How long was Biden senator? 36 years.

36 X 174 = 6.26 million dollars

Add to this the money he made as a vice-president for 8 years: 235K/year

8 X 235 = 1.88 million dollars

Total made from the government: 8.06 million dollars

After the vice-presidency, he got a book deal and speaking fees, which more than doubled his net worth. Which might be the thing that would need more regulations, fees former government officials get when they join the private sector after serving for office. I'd put a cap on that. But right now, it's legal.

If you take into account the fact that real estate purchased in the 60s and 70s has greatly increased in value, Biden's net worth is totally logical. DD, our money expert here, can attest to this.

Biden has made his tax returns for the last 22 years public. between 2017 and 2019 the greatest amount of his wealth was accumulated as he made 16 million dollars in book deals and speaking fees.

And everyone ignores Jills income and she was no slouch either. She got a 3 million dollar book deal and made nearly a million in speaking fees. Joe had a 10 million dollar book deal and made over 4 million in speaking fees

Your numbers are just significantly off thru out your estimates. During the time he was in the White House, he and Jill were claiming just under 400,000 a year, not 235,000 During his last years in the Senate they were making between 250K to 325K



There is no need to speculate, you can browse his tax returns online going back to 1998. And you'll learn some fun facts, like the Biden's bring in about $4500 a month in social security benefits

I'm cynical though, there are very few (Ron Paul and Jimmy Carter for instance) who I think can have a lifetime in politics and still maintain their integrity, and unfortunately, I don't think Joe is one of them.
