funny i was thinking the same thing. i def hear an influence of that song too be it intentional or not.... oh and not to be “that person” but ya know Springsteen wrote “Blinded by the Light” although I prefer Manfred Mann version myself.

Same. Been hearing the chorus for a few days now.

Funny, I don't even like his vocals on it all that much....I don't hate them, but they don't sound that great to me, but I love what he's saying, the callbacks to old times and classic old songs.

And I guess most of all, it sounds like a nostalgic tip of the cap to Edward and VH and those days in general.

As I get older, I appreciate those times myself a lot more, and I bet Dave does, too.
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em. -

I liked this song the first time I heard it. Each time I listen to it, it only seems to get better.
I hope this album with John 5 drops soon.
“And what we have at our fingertips is arguably one of the greatest high tenor voices ever – that was in Michael Anthony. In our tiny little corner of the universe, that voice is as identifiable as the high voice in Earth, Wind & Fire, as identifiable as the high voice in the Beach Boys. Van Halen is an indelicate house blend of both – that’s intentionally. So I would always look forward to that reunion.” - David Lee Roth

A song like this for me is like Bob Dylan or Leonard Cohen. While they sing in a bit better pitch than Dave, you still are sacrificing traditional lead vocals for a story. Its kind of like guitar players. While it would be great to have great technical ability, its about expressing yourself. You may only be able to do that marginally but if you can, and do it convincing then it can still be good. Dave definitely can be difficult to sing but he does put work into it.

Its still a cool song a week later.

That's about as good a way to describe it as any. He's telling a story, to a good melody and he does what he can with the vocals. He's not trying to win American Idol here.

And I'm still singing the chorus
