Very cool tune from DLR. I like the lyrical nod to Elton John in the chorus: "I never knew me a better time, and I guess I never will..."

Just read that Warner Brothers has hired Brian Kehew (I have no idea who this is), as part of a Rhino Re-issue, to go into the vaults at Sunset Sound and mix/engineer all the unreleased VH material that WB has.

WB's lust for cash is probably going to get the demos released professionally.

Edit: looked him up, he did the Woodstock Box Set, he's supposedly the man for going back to older, lower quality sound recordings and cleaning them up.

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

Great tune, DLR. That was a lot of fun and a perfect tribute. Dave doesn't really let anyone in to what ticking inside of him. Feel like I caught my first glimpse.

Agreed. They could let each other scream and wail like no one else.

And though they were best at the hard rock stuff, I wish they did more songs together like Could This Be Magic. This album Dave did with John 5, I'm sure when I hear more of it I'll wonder how it would've sounded with Ed on it instead, like DD said. I'm already doing it with this cool little track he just put out.

The artwork is of course a tribute to Ed, the song I think just fits closely enough to what DLR wants to say.

Edit: Ed had listened to DLR's solo album with John 5, I wonder if this was the song he liked the most.
What's your source for this? I'd like to read more about it.

When it says "re-issue," does this mean that I'll be buying new versions of the 6-pack once again?

They are going to mix/engineer all the unreleased material WB has. I am totally down with that.

Not really digging the song but it's cool that Dave put it out there. And I also always hear Ed's playing in my head when I hear a Dave solo tune.

I really like this song. John 5 is so talented, I would love for this whole album to come out, I really think it will. John said in an interview he keeps a copy on his phone and listens to it often, he said it's really good.

DD said "unreleased" VH material that is in WB's possession. Hopefully this will all get the blessings of Al and Dave and Mike. Pretty exciting news for this fan.

That interview was before Ed's passing.

But, he may have known at the time that Ed had a limited amount of time left and been dealing with that reality.
