I know the Ed Has Passed thread is huge and hard to read in its entirety, but this was posted there yesterday.

I think many would agree that a thread dedicated to the rumor will only end up getting ugly.

I don't like these rumors. they pissed me off as soon as I saw them. Let the family grieve people. it's not like it's a 2 day event and then you're ready for the world again. give everyone some time.

plus I think it sounds like a stupid idea.

I hate hearing that anything could come out of a fan community that would hurt Wolf or the rest of the family. Sure, as celebrities, they can expect to get some public comment and scrutiny ( it is an unfortunate part of the job) but there are boundaries and people who overstep those boundaries are not fans.

We used to call it "common decency" which meant it was the normal way to act and everyone knew the boundaries. Speculation that they are reforming the band or that Wolf is "replacing" Ed ( I mean WTF! we are talking about his DAD not a personnel change)...that's just obviously over that line.

This rumor reminds me of when my Godfather died and I went to my Godmothers house to sit with her. She had no children and most of her siblings had passed and she was now pretty much alone in the world. I was sickened by how many phone calls she got just while I was visiting from people who wanted to know if she was going to sell Walter's car, or sell the farm equipment ( that was all sold when he retired from farming,,,the barns sat mostly empty) or sell the house and farm. But all these people did so under the guise that they were trying to "help" my godmother. Right. They were really eager to get her out of the house she had lived in for 60 years in order to "help" her

When a loved one dies, no one is really ready for it no matter how much preparation they think they have made and there is a lot of figuring out what life is now that the person who meant so much to them is gone. That takes a good long while. Let them grieve.
