NEED a Peavey Wolfgang Locking Nut

Hey guys. I’m having a hard time finding a locking nut that fits my Wolfgang. The one that Floyd Rose recommended sticks out from the top and the top string is right on the edge. Totally off.

Anyone have one for sale or know who has the right ones? Or even a broken neck with the clamp still on it.

Here is a pic of my bebe: its a 1996 first year model.

I don't know where to get the part but that is a sick wolfgang. Im sure someone with more parts knowledge will chime in. Sounds to me like you just need a specific with.

Hi all,

It’s been a very, very long time since I posted but I’ve continued to stay tuned to the site all these years. I have a red Peavey wolfgang that I bought used from guitar center a number of years ago. It’s was, and still is, in greatshape except the locking nut had been replaced when I bought it. I called Peavey and they sent me one but even though it fit, it always seemed to have a higher string action than my other Wolfgang’s. If any one has an extra they would be willing to part with, I’m interested.

Hi Rob, yes I have, that is the nut that I have on the red Wolfgang now. It's similar but different to the the two others I have. The new Peavey nut seems to make the action a slight bit higher that the others.

You may need to sand the nut shelf on the neck a little to lower the action.

Quick update on my issue. So I ordered a new nut from Sweetwater, it's a Floyd Rose R2 nut (41.3mm). It fits nicely on the width of the neck and the action is better than the nut I received from Peavey a few years ago.

The problem now is the original screw holes are slightly off. When I attach the new nut and tighten the screws, it pulls the nut up and shows a small gap between the nut and the fretboard.

Looking for suggestions. The way I see it, I can do three things: 1) drill new holes, 2) look for smaller screws, or 3) drill out the holes on the nut. I would say I am reasonably handy but I am nervous about drilling new holes in the fretboard. I know the drill bit will slide into the old holes and I will probably have a wider hole than I would like (can always put a toothpick shaving or something).

Here is a picture. Appreciate any suggestions.
