Wow, that is a lot. Two great bands ending too soon in the same calendar year...

Nah, it’s what Creem Magazine called Geddy once, ticked him off.

Close enough. VH was Hollywood Bowl. Rush was Inglewood Forum.

Let's not forget that both bands were managed by Ray Danniels at some point in their careers. Rush seemed to have a good relationship with RD. Many also credit him with the downfall of VH. Recall, he was the guy that came on board in '97/'98. The band never really returned to form after that.

It was earlier than that. Ed Leffler passed at the end of '93 & Ray Danniels was on board by the time Balance came out. Balance album & tour were both great. From what I've heard, he and Hagar clashed about the Best of Volume 1. Sammy didn't feel that VH needed to do a greatest hits album, but Ray was adamant.

    This times fuckin ten.

Two parts of what I called my "Holy Trinity" pretty much since the 80's.

VH, Rush, Genesis. I loved and saw all three live as much as I could.

They're all pretty much history now. And this friends is why I drink.

Danniels also tried to have Geddy replaced at some point. I have zero respect for that clown.

Sam claimed RD was the reason all the initial infighting started. And I'm pretty certain Sam refused to sign any deal with RD. Sam was not managed by RD. One of Sam's issue's being RD being cut into a big chunk of the back catalog. There were many issues with RD and Sam. Not that I really want to revisit RD and those dark days again...
