The Van Halens could keep his spot private or away from public in fear it could end up like Jim Morrison's. Just a thought.
I wonder, if Valerie's brother is right, he will be cremated and Janie will have him. I feared what could happen in light of his parents being cremated and scattered. I had a friend who was really having trouble scattering his mother into a creek like she wanted because once ashes hit water, it's like watching them disappear in front of you.
I seriously dont believe he will have a place like Dimebag. I could be wrong. You never know.
June. 1984. Kemper Arena. Kansas City, Mo. My very first concert. The lights go out. The spotlights rotate over the crowd while a wailing guitar overtakes the screams and cheers. The opening riff of "Unchained" begins as a lone spotlight illuminates Eddie Van Halen. By himself. I was never the same after that.

Or they can bury his ashes at 5150 which is the most likely scenario. In a garden etc.

I hope Wolf gives us a clue like "Pop's home now" or "Pop came home today."

    Closure for the fans.

So Edward passing away from cancer on Tuesday morning was not enough closure for you? You really feel you need to know where his ashes are?

This is a bizarre thread. Of all the things that went through my mind this week - where Eddie's ashes are is not even in the same universe.

Ashes are ashes. I have about 5 boxes of them in my house (both parents and 3 dogs). Edward has gone on to the afterlife whatever that is... There's your closure.

Not our business. If they put up a marker in a public place, Iíd like to know...but other than that...itís completely private and we have no right to know.

    Wow, EJC. Little pointed there.
Yeah, to me, I would like to know. I am thankful he is out of pain and he gave us what he did when alive, but there are a lot of entertainer's families that know their fans would like to be able to visit them or find closure. If you think this is bizarre then you are entitled to your opinion, but yes, as a big fan of his, I would like closure to know. I assure you I am far from alone.

EVHWolf. I agree and disagree. I agree with the privacy point you have. But, I dont think it's out of the realm to know. If he comes home and he is behind the locked gates of his home, then that's privacy and the fans know he didnt just vanish. What about the fans who would like to know? There's probably thousands out there hoping to visit his grave and leave flowers, striped items, picks, etc. So I dont think it's a stretch to know where he ended up. They can let the fans know and then if he is with Wolf or Janie, then he is in the family's privacy and that's that. Graves like Dimebag's is partly a tribute to him and acknowledgment to the fans. If you've seen his marker, it's not exactly private. His family acknowledged the fans. If they wanted to seal him away for privacy, they couldve done it. Or like Michael Jackson. You see him from afar, but you cant get near him.

Default Any word on where Eddie is?

Thereís absolutely nothing wrong with trying to find out if heís going to be buried somewhere that people can visit. Donít feel bad about asking this question I donít think itís bizarre at all. Iíve already said I would like to visit and pay my respects. I donít care if thatís weird or not to someone. Itís something that matters to me.

It doesnít matter if he died three minutes ago or 10 years ago. Thereís nothing wrong with the question.

Asking if heís been cremated yet or whatís been done with the body I guess is a little strange, but I understand itís just curiosity and certainly not the end of the world to ask.

As Iíve said before during this, people need to cut each other a break and stop passing judgment on what people would like to know. This has hit people hard in many different ways. Just because you donít celebrate or mourn people in a certain way doesnít mean itís right or wrong. I mean I made it pretty clear I thought it was weird that my mother-in-law has her parentsí ashes in a box in the house. I mean in my family we would never do that. But Iím not passing judgment, I love my mother-in-law, sheís a wonderful person.

Not the end of the world, no - but starting a thread on it is, in your words "a little strange". Brett, I'm not trying to be disrespectful - and VHKC1984 I didn't mean to attack you personally.... Welcome to the forums and accept my apologies if my post came off like that.

I've been away from here for about 5 months because there was really nothing to talk about, and the political bullshit was out of control.

My opinion is this, and if it's not shared by anyone - so be it.

Edward Van Halen left this world less than 4 days ago.

I guess I just don't understand the need for threads discussing who is opening up the proverbial "vaults" and when, or where Eddie's ashes are, or who is going to play guitar on some hypothetical tribute tour or show...

I figured we would get at least a few weeks of celebrating the mans life and small sense of contentment knowing that he is no longer in pain. By all accounts, Ed's last days were pretty terrible.

Maybe I'm a little biased because one of my best friends is going through his 2nd round of chemo for stage 4 colon cancer at the age of 37.

I guess I'm just different. I don't know... Didn't mean to pass judgement on anybody. But none of those aforementioned topics seem right to me when he passed 3 and a half days ago.

    ~Peace and respect to all.
