Default Any word on where Eddie is?

First off, I am brand new to your site. I am just shy of addicted as this is the most informative VH place I have ever been!

Is there any word on what happened to Eddie after death? Was he cremated? Buried? Ashes scattered? I have been combing news trying to find this and havent seen a thing. Thought maybe someone here might have an inside word.

It's only been a few days. These things can sometimes take a week to two weeks to plan. And even then we might never get word as to when the actual funeral is. As private as this family seems to be, I would imagine the funeral will be on lockdown and with a minimum of people (especially with COVID) would attend. But I don't think we will see any kind of public funeral, maybe a public memorial service with some speeches from certain key people like Wolf, Alex, Brian May, and Zakk Wylde. Call me skeptical, but I don't see VH fans getting their dream funeral where they can sit in the same room/arena where his casket is lying in state so to speak.

It is custom, and actually a Dutch law I believe, to have the funeral arrangements completed within six days. I don't know if Ed and his family will follow Dutch customs, but just throwing it out there. It will probably be something this weekend, and we probably won't know about it.

For selfish reasons I hope he isn't cremated and scattered. Would be nice to visit a resting place.

I visited Central Park NYC right after John Lennon was murdered in 1980. There were a ton of people there but it was pretty mellow. Many were shocked just like now with Ed's passing. And there was no mental prep for Lennon's murder, it just came out of nowhere. Yoko requested that people stop singing because she couldn't go to sleep at the Dakota building. I don't think that type of gathering would work too well nowadays. You have covid, and with large groups now there could be troublemakers for other reasons such as the upcoming election or any number of issues. It's better to allow the family their private funeral, and the fans can pay their respects on this or other sites. This is the best VH site as many are now discovering.

Us Jews, we get you in the ground quick...2-3 days max. My dad died on a Tuesday, he was buried on Thursday. In a wall though, not the ground. We don't like the ground thing in our family, everyone is in a wall. Although my dad's parents were both cremated, which normally Jews don't do.

I was hoping there would be somewhere for me to pay my respects to Ed.

Such a grim subject, but the first sentence of this post cracked me up.

Good it was supposed to be funny. Best part about death if you're Jewish. We don't fuck around, we get rid of you quick.

Cremated can still have a spot to visit. I've had several relatives cremated and none were scattered. All have a final resting place. So there is a chance.

Yeah my grandparents are like in a cabinet at the cemetery.

Sometimes though people keep the ashes at home. My wife's grandparents are both with my mother-in-law. I think it's totally weird (so does my wife), but the family hasn't decided what they want to do yet.

Since Al is an ordained minister, I wonder if he’ll preside over a service?
