Nope, I’d have passed on that show even with DLR signing. The tailgating in the parking lot would’ve been like World’s colliding. No thanks.
Na, it wasn't that bad. Metallica was the only oddball. The rest were in the same vein. Most VH fans were fans of all the bands.
Metallica fans weren't fans of all the bands but most stuck around.

The Tailgate was good. It wasn't 100 degrees yet. Everyone was having a good time.

LOL. Yeah, that was most likely the culprit. They had more sense than we did. Jeez, if we coulda got a few clouds once in awhile...woulda been way more enjoyable.

Bands were great, but...probably my worst.

IDK, off the top of my head...not sure I'm hearing, Beautiful Girls, Rhyme, Outta Love, Hang 'Em High, Little Guitars, Jump, Secrets, DDL's, Women in Love...

Stuff like, ATBL, RWTD, Cradle, yeah, I can hear that.

Totally agree with Rebel Yell. Do Not Stand in The Shadows, Nobody's Business, Blue Highway...that would be awesome!

    This.

Between wanting to fight people who talk shit about him and the drama w/Jericho and the 100 different things he does for attention.

A lot of those "tributes" and recalls are just people trying to desperately turn the attention to themselves and to capitalize on EVH's death. The so-called "attention whores".

I also expect a lot of Van Halen covers (maybe even Van Halen tribute albums), which should be, on the other hand, kinda interesting.

I was 17 when I saw the Monsters Of Rock in Oxford ME. It was a crazy day with rain, thunder and lightning. All of that started after Metallica and truth be told, I only bought tickets to this show as I had no idea if VH was going to tour on their own after that. I had very little knowledge of Metallica as I just remember some wicked burn out kid at school had a Metallica shirt that showed a picture of a hand coming out of a toilet holding a sword. It said Metallica at the top and under the picture it said metal up your ass! I barely knew anything from them and I remember James telling the crowd to beat the shit out of anyone that didn't know the words. It was quite the rough crowd too...
