Just finished watching the Rage VH tribute. It went for 2 hours. Just all the standard film clips but there were a couple of cool interviews.

They showed the '78 UK interview that I put on youtube a few years back. They also played 2 interviews from 1986. One was just as they were releasing WCTBL. The album hadnt been released yet. Uncensored interview. Not shown, but the interviewer (Molly) got in trouble for this interview as he was not supposed to mention DLR, and he did, a few times...Funny stuff. The second '86 interview is a fucking classic. I had seen a little bit of it before but this was awesome. Eddie and Sammy are hammered at some party thing. Val is there too. Its very funny. I'm sure it will be on youtube in the next day or so, so look out for it.

Just wanted to follow up and say I've posted both 5150-era interviews on YouTube just now for those who didn't get to see them. Dutchie5150 is right, they are pretty hilarious and definitely unaired..Al drops the f-bomb in one of them. Links below:

What? He was one of the first to ever interview the band on tv. Search up VH interview ‘78 on YouTube. Molly helped to get them big in Australia.

Yep, Molly tried to entice Van Halen to tour Australia as early as 1978.
Unfortunately they weren't particularly interested in touring here and didn't until 1998.

The Rage special was cool. The interviews were fun to watch.
I hadn't seen the "Why Can't This Be Love" clip before. It was different to the one from Live Without A Net.
Hopefully some of this stuff will get an official release at some point in the future.

Van Halen always wanted to come here. They are quite a few interviews with them talking about (from all eras). Its the promoters here that were the problem, not the band

The “Why can’t...” clip was the main clip when it was released. It was recorded at the sports auditorium in Florida.
