Default Van Halen can continue on

Van Halen can go on. It’s all up to Wolf. If Wolf takes over on guitar, gets Sam, Mike, and Dave on board, I’d pay to see that show. A lovefest for his pop. Why the fuck not?

This ain't so Skynyrd show. If they tour, call it something else. DON'T CALL IT VAN HALEN!

    And yes, I'd pay also.
    Right here I say....

That won’t ever happen. And it’s not just up to Wolfgang, there are other people involved and I don’t think any of them want to move forward without Ed. These are men in their 70s or almost their 70s, I don’t think they have a reason to do anything else as Van Halen.

Also, I don’t know about anybody else but I honestly don’t want to see any version of Van Halen that doesn’t have Ed on guitar. That’ll never be anything for me.

I don’t understand why we just can’t accept that it’s over. I think we have to. The king has left the building. Everything ends guys.

I agree. Maybe I'll change my mind when the hurt subsides. But right now, I don't think I'd want to see that. I'd rather see the Rush approach in this case. It just won't work without Ed.

I DO hope Wolf keeps making music though.

Personally I would not want to see such a thing called VH, 'cause it's not.

There may be compilations, maybe some posthumous releases (i.e. unreleased live shows, rest of the ADKOT sessions, unreleased III-era songs, remastered demos, vault stuff etc), and now maybe they can actually do proper Van Hagar remasters, but that's all I see happening in the coming years, and all that is still a huge maybe.

Without Ed, it just ain't Van Halen --- period.

The best thing we could hope for is that Wolf and Al decide to release a lot of cool material that we’ve never heard before. That would be far more awesome to have any half assed live show without the greatest guitarist to walk the earth.

I've seen Van Halen with two different singers and two different bassists, but I could never imagine seeing them with two different guitarists. Not trying to belittle anybody else's contributions, but there's no Van Halen without Ed. Time to let it go.

I get it. We are all in pain and shock right now. But down the road if there is an announcement of a tour with these guys, you aren’t gonna buy a ticket?? You’re buyin’ a ticket. You know you are buying a ticket.

Van Halen can live on with some posthumous live cd/DVD releases and Wolf possibly doing the odd VH lick or tune in his live show, that's what I would like to see.

I don't want to see Wolf try and become a tribute to his dad, he should carve his own path now and make his dad proud.

My wife's favorite band is the Eagles and Glenn Frey was her favorite. Since he passed, we've seen Don Henley solo, saw Joe Walsh open for Tom Petty. She will not go see "The Eagles" though. She's not mad or anything that they continued, but she doesn't want to see them without Glenn. So, for me, I feel it's the same, I would not see them without Ed. It's a moot point though, I don't foresee Al and Wolf trying to put something like that together.

A tribute show with all past members contributing? Absolutely I would be interested in that.

The band continuing on as Van Halen without Edward?

    That's never gonna happen.
