Default Thank you Wolfgang for everything

I want to thank Wolfgang in this stressful time, for everything he did.
He got Dave and his dad to work together again.
They produced a great album, a wild live album and gave us some great tours.
A finally opportunity for everyone to see Ed play live again.
None of it would have happened if it wasn't for Wolfgang.

My mother passed away from lung cancer, so I understand the battle his father went through.
I didn't play guitar for a year after that.
I hope in Wolfgang's case he takes the time he needs to grieve.

I agree completely. He's always gotten so much flack. He is the reason we had VH from 2007-2020. We should all respect that. My condolences to Edward's family.

Don't forget getting Eddie clean. He was apparently responsible for that too, and I think we would have lost Eddie long before now if he hadn't put down the bottle when he did.

In 2015 I got the chance to shake Wolfgang’s hand and thank him for saving both VH and his father. He was super kind and gracious with his time. He’s the only reason we’ve gotten any VH activity since 2004, and I’m for sure grateful for that.

I hope Ed left him the keys to the kingdom.

I definitely want to thank Wolf for his role in getting the band moving again, but I’d also like to take a different view.

Knowing he has read some stuff here, I hope he sees this.

Wolf, i last my Father to a rare cancer 2 years ago, one minute we were discussing rehab on a broken femur, and two weeks later he had passed. He was my best friend, and the void left in that loss is huge. You don’t ever get over it, though people will say it gets better, and it does, but part of you dies in it as well.
Time is short, we never know when what we have today will be gone tomorrow. We learn that money doesn’t hold are hand when we are sick, critique doesn’t push us to keep fighting, and drama can never warm us when death is close. Our family are the only ones that can do those things, and while healthy we tend to not make them a priority.
But like with my Father, it truly seems that you and your pop understood that and I do believe watching you over the last 30 years brought him a joy that he likely could never fully express.
I’m an outsider, I don’t know you or your father, but, and I’ll project here, I believe Eddies greatest joy was playing with you, whether at 5150 or on stage, I believe those moments were the purest happiness he ever felt.
Know that while he left too soon, he saw you grow to a man, take on so much at 16 in playing to huge audiences and taking things fans were saying about replacing Mike. He saw you and was with you in creating albums and doing tours, and now recording in the studio. He’s seen you grow, learn, and I’m sure he was very confident in the path you are on.
It does get easier, and yes even harder at times. And you will hear his voice in your head on so many things. Stay strong, because that’s who you are and who he drive you to be.
And with that, thank you for sharing him with the world, he didn’t have to do the things he has done over the last 15 years, and he did then because he still got to focus on family by doing it with you. So thank you for sharing him, the musical world was much better with him in it, and we all feel the loss now that he’s gone. Know that you helped him touch and reach many people, be proud and keep pushing forward

If you happen to read this, my condolences. While we all loved your dad due to he music he created, how he played guitar and how he was involved in our lives with that music, he wasn't our dad. Likely the vast majority of people here never met him and only have seen him when he was on stage. That's our experience but he was your dad and friend.

Thanks for everything you did. I know sometimes you have gotten pissed at this place for our obsession with your dad and your personal life but its really a testament to how much this band and your dad meant to us. I assume some of us now know where your comments came from. You do what you want to do when you want to do it. That said thanks for allowing us some sense of closure and another album.

Thank you, Wolfgang for the tours in 2007, 2012 and 2015. The setlist in 2015 with all of those great deep cuts was beyond awesome. Thank you for ADKOT, the first studio album with Dave, your dad and your uncle since 1984.

We all loved your dad and will always cherish his amazing talent and timeless music. My deepest and sincerest condolences.

    Wolfgang,
I echo much of what has been said here so far. While we loved you dad and his music, he was your dad. My deepest condolences to you, your mom, uncle, Janie and family and friends. Thank you for all that you did in helping you dad and giving the world more Van Halen. I'm sad, but my heart breaks for you.
Rest in Peace Edward Van Halen

I tagged Wolfgang in a Twitter post I made a few months ago. He never responded but I hope he saw it. I basically said the exact same thing. I thanked him for getting Van Halen back together, for the years of touring, and for the "A Different Kind of Truth" album. I told him that I, along with every Van Halen fan in the world, owes him a debt of gratitude.

I hope he realizes how much his dad meant to us all and how much we appreciate what he did to get Van Halen touring/recording again.

Agree with this 100%! Wolf was the heart of soul of VH 4.0, and is owed all of our sincerest thanks and gratitude for giving us everything we got from 2007-2015!

May healing come to him and all his family!

Thanks for everything Wolf. No doubt, we wouldn’t have seen the mighty VH live post 2004 or had ADKOT without you.

Also, a huge thank you for the live deep cuts and never played live songs.

    My sincere condolences.

    You have my upmost condolences.

Your pop's defiantly jamming with Jan now.
