Greg Renoff podcast on Van Halen & new Ted Templeman book
https://hardcopy.ie/rock-rules-episode-1-greg-renoff/
It's been nearly a year since I last recorded a podcast with Greg Renoff, so especially since it was so well-received here, I've got him back on the show to discuss his new book on producer extraordinaire Ted Templeman, and of course the mighty Van Halen™.
You can listen to the programme by searching your favourite podcast app for Rock Rules, or by streaming from the link at the top of this post. The show is also on Spotify!
Let me know if you enjoyed it - thanks!

Quite a number of you checked out the podcast in some form - thanks! - so it'd be great if anyone could suggest any talking points that they thought were interesting.

Ok I will admit that I am awesome. But I’m reading Ted’s book again and he’s talking about getting 3 points from VH and giving one to donn. What is a point in monetary terms? I will admit I’m ignorant when it comes to this.

A point is a percentage on record sales. By doing this Ted certainly made Donn a relatively wealthy man, much more so than just getting a set fee for engineering the record.

Rover, I hear you but I do listen to a few on the list fairly often: Bad Co, Billy and Soundgarden being the most prominent. I also love Joy Division/New Order altho some of my friends thought they...
