the sad thing about growing old - when i was a kid in the '70s, the music of the '50s and even the early '60 was "oldies" - now the music that I grew up with in the '70s is twice as old as that music was then!

Yup. Plenty of young people would lump VH in with the "oldies."

Mods, thanks for condensing the thread. Grew up listening to a lot of classical oldies, 50’s/60’s stations. So I don’t care what people say, Rock n Roll is here to stay!

Have you ever been to San Angelo, TX?

I went to Tech School there for the Air Force. Quite a culture shock coming from Cleveland, Ohio. One building over 3 stories tall, the Hotel Cactus. The weekend that I arrived was the annual “Rattlesnake Round-up Festival”. I thought I was in an episode of the Twilight Zone.
