Of course they have the freedom to boo, thatís exactly my point. You canít defend their right to stand in unity or whatever and not also defend the right for someone to boo it

You know maybe some of us just want to watch sports without the politics. If that makes us racists so be it. Do you really think I care if some complete stranger on the net thinks Iím a racist? You really do generalize on here a lot about people. You do realize the door swings both ways right? I donít really think you do sometimes. I think you sometimes like to say things just because itís the opposite of what everyone else says.

People who do that are really fucking annoying btw. Because you know they donít believe half the shit they say, or care. They just say it because they know itíll get a rise out of everyone and they think theyíre some kind of free- thinker, like everyone else is just following the herd if they actually agree with anything. So weird. And you constantly calling members of this site racist is just about done for me. I am done reading it so I suggest you stop posting it.

Plus add into that your attempts to bait people, and posting so condescendingly that it is mind-boggling to me you think thatís how to disagree with someone intelligently. I really think if this is a site you enjoy coming to it needs to stop. If you think this is a good way to be part of the community, and donít really care how youíre perceived, or that there are real people at the end of your comments, then I think itís time not to be here. And I say this to anyone who shares your mentality. If Iím totally wrong about what your intent is here then I apologize. But this has been an ongoing theme for you basically since you started posting here.

I knew a guy years ago at work where anything you said this guy would just automatically say the opposite. It got to a point where I just stopped talking to him because it was pointless, You literally could not make a statement to him that he wouldnít disagree with and go on a soap box about. Itís tiring to talk to somebody who does that. There are some people in this world who are just intent on being miserable curmudgeons. And it didnít matter what it was, it couldíve been the most innocuous thing. One day he asked me why we donít go to lunch anymore and I fucking told him. I told him I just donít like people who say the opposite of everything just to be a dick. He didnít argue that thatís what he was doing. And we never spoke again actually after that. He got fired two weeks later by the way.

Or the check out girl at Giant.

Of the dude in the lumber section of Home Depot.

Or some guy on TV playing a kid's game for a living.

If that makes me racist, then fuck it, I'm racist. And I am getting to the point I don't give a fuck if people think I am.

I will guarantee that I personally have done more for black Americans this year than 99.99999999999% of the people protesting, so yeah, I don't want to fucking see it/hear it from JJ Watt. He's a fucking football player, his job is to tackle another man to the ground. Sorry if I don't think his opinion should be anything I concern myself with.

However, if he wants to talk about how to defend the jet sweep, I'm all ears.
Unfortunately, a large segment of the country does not have to go back to being racist. They have always been and always will be.

I think it is fantastic that you have done a lot for African Americans and I am not questioning the motivation behind your work. There are those, however, that perform work to benefit African Americans because it benefits them financially, not because they care about advancing racial justice and equality.

There are issues in this country of greater importance than sports fans' feelings. Booing a message and gesture of racial justice and equality says a lot about the character and hearts of those who do. It doesn't speak well.

The argument that he's a fucking football player suggests that any profession or vocation is just a fucking...fill in the blank. Let's please not leave it up to entrenched politicians to do all the talking for us. It's still We the People, right? And government derives its power from We the People. Playing sports does not and should not require the abdication of our political voices.

Brett, my political opinions are in the minority on this site, so they will always seem contrarian to some. I am sorry that my posts have reminded you of a former co-worker who liked to take the opposite view just to get a rise out of people. I assure you that is not my M.O. Not wanting to mix politics and sports does not make one racist, I have never said that. It is hard not to question the motive of some who hold this view. I have studied and taught quite a bit of history and I have observed quite a bit of human behavior, all of which points to an underlying disdain for any message or attempt that subverts the status quo of white privilege and supremacy. When you, Mike, Coulda, DD, and a few others say you don't want your politics and sports mixed because you genuinely want a break from in your face all the time politics, I believe you. I also believe that you guys don't represent the majority of people who boo and protest such a mixture. This is your site, and I don't want to offend you. People know how I feel, so I'll just leave it at that.

Racism isnít a political leaning. People who make all these social issues political are fucking idiots. The sad part is thatís what all these piece of shit politicians do to get elected. Democrats do it just as much as anyone else. And theyíre just as smarmy. Iím sorry that you believe people who donít share your political views are racist but thatís a pretty silly commentary on your part. The Democratic Party was the party of slavery for heavenís sake.

Iím not offended by your feelings I am offended how you choose to voice them to others. You do it in a very condescending way. And I donít appreciate that and I know nobody else does. No one likes to be talked to like theyíre stupid. And if you think everyone on this site is stupid, then probably this isnít the site for you. I certainly wouldnít want to be on a site where I thought everyone was an idiot unless they shared my political views.

Iím very sad that this world has become all about politics to people. People who canít be friends with other people who have different political views. Thatís some craziness that never existed before the last few years. I mean if we lived our life by politics I wouldíve never married my wife who shares far different political views than I do. By the way I am saying political views not social views. It has nothing to do with why we are together.

    How about this.

In short, you come off as a condescending prick in almost every post you make.

Either you do it on purpose to get a rise out of people, or you are in reality a douchenozzle. Whichever one it is, it's not a good look for you.

In other words, it isn't us. It's you.
If I don't respond to you it means I have you on ignore, which means you are a douchenozzle.

I don't have a problem with the players locking arms like that.

It's not going to bring me back to the NFL, but that was a more respectable way to express themselves and I don't think it called for the booing.

Call for booing? No. I wouldn't do it.

But I understand it. And as we have said, if players have the right to protest while at work, the people that paid to watch them play football have the right to boo them for it.

Not saying it's right, but I understand it.

    Booing isn't racist.

Racist is thinking that a person is below you because of the color of their skin. Thinking that they are inferior to you because of their skin color. They can't perform a task as well as you. They shouldn't be in the same room as you. You hate them for their skin color. You may not even view them as humans. This what racism used to be. Its why Brett's ancestors were killed. Its been done by whites, Asians, Africans, Native Americans since the beginning of time. Shit us homo sapiens likely committed genocide vs our cousins the Neanderthals. It was due to them simply being different.

I for one don't really care if they want to have a Unity Moment. Lock arms. Heck lock arms with policemen and women as well. Show solidarity. Show the willingness to change. However that's not the message. Maybe after George Floyd it was but now its something different. They intimidated Drew Brees for his national anthem stance. They are putting rapists names on their helmet. I understand an unjust shooting maybe occurred but this guy RAPED a woman. He is a dirt bag and you are honoring him. Especially when you went through hell and back for Ray Rice. You have an issue with your athletes being shitty to women yet you are allowing a sexual predator to be honored. Some people like me have an issue with that

Some people also simply just wants sports to be entertainment. Like going to see a movie. Like going to an amusement park. We are lambasted 24x7 about Covid and Racial issues. On the news. You open up Amazon Prime and there is a section for Black Movies or for Racial Justice. The same for Netflix (there was) and other streaming services. You open up Facebook and chances are some of your friends will have posts about Covid or Race. Some FB adds will be showing it. Oh then there are the Biden and Trump adds. You go to twitter same thing. You can't escape it.

It used to sports though that allowed you a break. Not anymore. Some of us simply just want a diversion for a few hours. Is that too much to ask? Some of us like me simply think the National Anthem should be a moment of respect. Especially with 9-11 just occurring. I don't like it when guys wears hats with the anthem so I am not going to like kneeling or raising a fist. Its not racist. Its simply my opinion which I SHOULD HAVE A RIGHT TO. I have had the right about wearing hats since my dad told me probably 1974. I am also a veteran who served this country. Now I get that some vets are cool with that. Fine they can cheer. However I should have the right to be a bit upset as well.

Its terrible marketing. It was with Colin Kap kneeling. Its terrible now. You are not winning over people with the antics. Its a losing strategy. Its like Brett walking down the street and a Christian is out there preaching. He yells at Brett, "You are going to hell. Your people killed Jesus Christ and you will burn in eternal damnation unless you come to Christ. Get on your knees and repent the sins of you and your people. If you don't, then I will damn you to the hottest of hells. SAY HIS NAME. "

You know how well that will work on Brett? He should be pissed at the guy. You think Brett's opinion of Christians will be improved by this interaction? Hell no. Sorry Brett just using you as an example. Now if Brett doesn't like Christians or their positions maybe a better approach would be a discussion. Why does Brett feel this way? What can be said to change his mind? Maybe educate Brett. Maybe Brett can educate the Christian? Maybe both can learn?

This isn't the case of Woke America. Its not the case for the NBA or NFL. Its one way dialogue and being upset at it isn't racism. Its simply the reception to a terrible marketing plan.

Itís also the mob mentality that is taking over the world. You donít want to think the way we do, well weíll just intimidate you until you do.

Yes it would be nice if people would just stand up for the national anthem, take their fucking hats off, and stand there for all all of a minute and a half without making a spectacle of themselves. All these idiotic antics and demonstrations during a song is just fucking silly and so self-serving. Itís also so contrived and phony. Can you imagine you canít just stand there quietly for a song anymore, you have to make some nonsensical demonstration? And if you do want to just do that you are a racist. 1986 posted that in black and white (pun intended) exactly that. Think about that.

I despise racism but to see guys (I donít care what fucking color they are) kneeling with a fist in the air during a harmless song is just so meaningless and pointless. These people are doing more to segregate our country than unify it.

I also want people to remember that Saint Colin Kaepersuck had pictures of cops as pigs on his socks when this whole thing started. This guy was already a stupid, biased sanctimonious prick who couldnít care less about unifying our society. And our country reached a new low by putting a guy like this up on a pedestal as a symbol of change and positivity for racial equality.

As a lifelong fan of pro sports, it saddens me to say that pro sports at this point in time are dead to me, and I'm not sure that will be changing anytime soon.
