If ADKOT was released in 2000/2001, how would it have performed commercially?
Apparently most of it was worked on during those years, except Stay Frosty. As for sales, it no doubt would have sold better as more people were buying music, I'd guess around 2x platinum. What about radio? Tattoo only hit #13 on the rock charts, and while everyone said it was a poor choice for a single, IAT is a bottom of the barrel track and still hit #6, so clearly the band's relevance along with the state of rock music in said years had something to do with it. I think HoneyBabySweetieDoll could have been a huge rock radio hit circa 2000, it's catchy enough and also would have been very modern sounding at the time.

Well, it obviously would have sold much better. People bought more music back then and VH was much more relevant in 2000 than they were a dozen years later.

Dude, if it wasn’t the Backstreet Boys or n’sync, it really didn’t make a huge impact in 2000-01.

It would have sold better no doubt. But, Then we'd be talking about 20 years without anything

Music sales revenues between the specific years 2000 and 2012 were DOWN approx 50%... so just DOUBLE the 2012 number to get a rough idea.
I did hear about 5 years ago ADKOT had had global sales of 1.1 million units... now they are probably 1.3M

The real interesting question is if ADKOt was released with the exact production sound and mix of 1984 and released as it's follow up in 1986... then how much does it sell??
Probably 5 million just in the USA with STW as the first single.
(minor problem being you couldn't actually cut it into a single vinyl master due to it's long runtime)
