Default Ozzy w/Randy Rhoads Covers - Audio Only (for now)!

I have been lazy about putting videos together but I thought I would share these audio covers I did of Ozzy tunes with Randy Rhoads. Now I'm no Randy Rhoads that's for sure, but for me I really like the way these came out. I will be making them into videos at some point.

Also I did use my new 5150 and my Shark Strat on all of these, and I noted where I used them. Sadly these are the only Rhoads stuff that has good backing tracks, hopefully more will come around. These tunes are all from Blizzard.

    Thanks for listening!

    1. I Don't Know
Guitars - Shark Strat on everything except for 5150 on solo.

    2. Crazy Train
    Guitar - 5150 on everything.

    3. Goodbye To Romance
Guitar - Shark Strat on everything.

    4. Suicide Solution
Guitars - 5150 on everything except the bridge with the toggle switch trick is the Shark Strat. Also some Shark Strat in the outro.

    5. Mr. Crowley
    Guitar - 5150 on everything.

Great job Brett! I'm a big RR fan, probably bigger fan than EVH - maybe its because I find Ed harder to replicate... But they are my top two players with Iommi right behind them. Love the guitar sound. Where did you get the backing tracks? I might take a stab at them sometime.

Thanks dude. I use http://www.karaoke-version.com for all of my backing tracks. Yes they cost a couple bucks but they’re totally worth it.

Yes Ed is much harder to replicate. His swing is so fucking hard to nail. His sense of timing is unbelievable.

These solos were tough but I felt I could do them justice. Double tracking them actually wasn’t that difficult. I didn’t double track all of them because when I was listening back I don’t know that he double tracked EVERY single solo. Obviously all the rhythm tracks and little fills I did double track. I know he may have triple tracked and quadruple tracked them but I wasn’t doing that.

    These are cool.

Of course I went to the Crowley Outro solo first. You were ripping.

Thanks. That’s a hard solo. I did a lot of takes before I found one that was good. I was just going to fade it out like the real one but what I played at the end I didn’t think was bad so I just kept the whole thing and didn’t fade it out.

Nice job, Brett. Credit to Randy as those 5 songs are all just phenomenal. I probably listened to Tribute from front to back about once a week for the entirety of my sophomore year of high school.

Great job! Really enjoyed your work on this. Have you tried any of the Diary tracks?

Thanks I’m actually a bigger fan of Diary than Blizzard. I know how to play some of those songs better but there are no quality backing tracks at all for that album, which sucks because I would love to do some songs from it.

I agree, my appreciation of Diary has skyrocketed as time has gone on. That's too bad...Maybe one day they'll pop up. My faves are Over The Mountain (those solos!), S.A.T.O. & DOAM.
