The Real Music Observer-Biggest Music Critic Fraud Ever

You ever happen to run into videos uploaded by Mr. Dave Spuria, aka "The Real Music Observer?" https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCpx...xw32MVPFWnUWmQ

Basically, he's an absolute hack who's a third-rate Eddie Trunk clone, except that whatever one thinks of Trunk (I personally can't stand him), this guy merely regurgitates things in an incredibly obvious way and doesn't remotely come by things honestly. He has an extremely narrow focus on AOR (though he does focus quite a bit on VH stories), and doesn't mention things in the wider world of music, like say, anything about the recent death of Little Richard. He beats the same tired viewpoints and stories over and over, and also arrives at things in an incredibly illogical manner.

For example, one thing he's focused on and bitched about endlessly is Fleetwood Mac's moving on without Lindsey Buckingham. It's understandable to be upset, but he takes it to an extreme by fellating Lindsey to a ludicrous extent, calling him "the Brian Wilson of Fleetwood Mac", which is not a compliment about Lindsey's talents as much as an insult that devalues Brian. There's only one Brian Wilson, after all, and Lindsey's good, but not THAT good. He also likes to say that Stevie Nicks could never write anything on her own, and that the only reason any of her songs are good is because of Lindsey, and that therefore, her solo achievements are really Lindsey's as well.

This is among great deal of asshattery and other elements too numerous to mention here. Other than the fact that he has a massive hate boner for Irving Azoff, and thinks he's to blame for everything, including concession prices, bitching about "$15 Azoff beer."

Never heard of the guy.

Followed the link, he has 32K subscribers...there are cats on YouTube with more subscribers than this guy. Pick something else to get worked up over man, something that matters.

I don’t think I’ve ever clicked on anything Toxic has ever linked to in his history at this site. Not breaking precedent for this nonsense.

Twice, Fleetwood Mac has replaced Lindsey with two guitarists, because they obviously couldn't find any single person to do what Lindsey does on guitar.

Lindsey Buckingham is more than good. The dude is a goddamn legend.

I'm referring to Lindsey as an arranger, not as a guitarist. Undoubtedly, Lindsey is an amazing guitarist, and at his prime, he was a great vocalist. But the idea that as an arranger, he's on par with Brian Wilson, which is what this asshole is saying, is absurd. There's only one Brian, and Lindsey is good as an arranger, but no more. Plus, the idea that Stevie can't write songs without Lindsey arranging them is utterly insulting, giving Lindsey too much credit and Stevie too little. Has anyone heard Trouble in Shangri-La, which is probably Stevie's best solo album since the first one?

Calling Lindsey "the Brian Wilson of Fleetwood Mac" is not a compliment of Lindsey, it's an insult that devalues Brian. Could Lindsey write something like "Good Vibrations", "God Only Knows", "Caroline No" or "Heroes and Villains?"

Seen a couple of this Dave guy’s videos. Not much info in them but whatever.

I think Stevie Nicks is awesome and Brian Wilson is indeed a genius. Sloop John B anyone?

He pops into my feed on occasion. Never watched any. I've seen so many bad people I'm afraid to click. I don't want my page haunted by their vids. Unfortunately, YT is full of goofs like him.
