The "whatabout" argument never works, for anyone.

If Hunter Biden did what he is accused of, he needs to face the music. If Joe knew about it and did nothing, unfortunately, he needs to pay for that politically. Yeah, it's his son, I get it, but if the accusations are true, Hunter needs to go down and how much Joe knew about it and/or hid or facilitated needs to be determined.

It's a bad look, as Joe had already been accused of leveraging his political office for direct financial gain to his son, and this just feeds into it.
If I don't respond to you it means I have you on ignore, which means you are a douchenozzle.

I don't know if Hunter is guilty of everything but lets remove our party led glasses.

Of all the people in the world who work with gas companies, have held executive roles in natural resource companies or any company, why did Hunter get to sit on the board? What experience did he have that made him essential to sit on said board? Why back when his father was VP. Why not in 2000? 2004? Why not now? Its for political favor. I would say the same if Ivanka was sitting on the board for an Israel Defense contractor. Maybe she is? Or if Pences son was on the board for Oracle. I don't think his family has any experience in cloud infrastructure, managed a software company or any company at all.

When the opportunity came up, Hunter shoudl have told dad and dad should have said "NO" Simple as that. Its a conflict of interest and unlike lets say Trump family., wasn't out there for public discussion. We know what Ivanka does or Jared does. Turn on CNN and you will find out. We know that they are working for the interests of the United States government. We know they are simply doing it because they are Trumps. Just make it known. If your son is deciding to be on a board of a corrupt gas company, let it be known.

Plus if its true that millions of dollars were being exchanged, its even a worse look. Yes Joe isn't responsible but he being in public office for that time should freaking now better. He was vice president. Not a retired former Senator from Deleware.

Florida AG calls for criminal inquiry into Bloomberg’s $16M felon voter donation

TALLAHASSEE — Florida‘s Republican attorney general on Wednesday urged the FBI and state authorities to investigate former New York Mayor Mike Bloomberg‘s pledge to spend $16 million helping convicted felons regain their voting rights in the nation’s largest swing state.

The attorney general, Ashley Moody, said in a letter to top law enforcement officials that she was asked by Gov. Ron DeSantis, another Republican, to review the donation Bloomberg announced on Tuesday. Moody said she quickly decided additional scrutiny was warranted.

“After preliminarily reviewing this limited public information and law, it appears further investigation is warranted,” Moody wrote in a letter to Michael McPherson, the FBI special agent in charge of the bureau’s Tampa office, and Florida Department of Law Enforcement Commissioner Richard Swearingen. “Accordingly, I request that your agencies further investigate the matter and take appropriate steps as merited.”

The move comes just two weeks before Florida’s voter registration deadline and 12 days after a federal appeals court upheld a restrictive new state law that requires former felons to clear court debts before registering to vote.

State CFO Jimmy Patronis also called on Wednesday for an inquiry into Bloomberg’s effort, asking the Federal Election Commission to investigate whether Bloomberg is "breaking the law by giving direct cash for voters."

A spokesperson for Bloomberg, who has pledged to spend $100 million in Florida to help Joe Biden beat President Donald Trump in the November election, accused Republicans of playing politics with voter rights. The billionaire former Republican made his own brief big this year to win the Democratic nomination for president.

“This transparent political ploy is just the latest example of Republicans attempting to keep Floridians disenfranchised,“ the spokesperson, Jason Schechter, said in a statement.

Florida voters in 2018 overwhelmingly passed a constitutional amendment ending the state’s lifetime ban on voting for most former prisoners. But the GOP-controlled Florida Legislature passed a law that requires felons to pay off any outstanding court debts before becoming eligible. One study estimates that nearly 775,000 felons still owe some form of fees, fines or restitution.

After a fierce legal battle, the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals earlier this month upheld the law on a 6-4 vote, handing a significant victory to Gov. Ron DeSantis and the Legislature. Barbara Lagoa, an appeals court said to be on Trump’s short list to fill the Supreme Court seat left vacant by Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, was among the jurists who voted in favor of upholding the law.

The Florida Rights Restoration Coalition, which was established as a nonprofit back in late 2018, set up a fees and fine fund to help people pay their court debts. Before the appeals court ruling the organization had raised more than $4 million, including a $100,000 donation from a voting rights group set up by NBA superstar LeBron James and other entertainers and athletes. In the nearly two weeks following the decision, the total amount of donations surged to more than $20 million — in large part due to Bloomberg‘s pledge.

Florida Republicans started signaling they wanted a probe into Bloomberg’s help on Tuesday night when Republican Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz, an ally of Trump, told Fox News he understood Moody was looking into the money and a “criminal investigation may be underway.”

Desmond Meade, executive director of the Florida Rights Restoration Coalition, sidestepped questions on Wednesday whether or not the hefty donation from Bloomberg and others could run afoul of state election law. Meade said any inquiry into Bloomberg‘s contribution would also need to look at the donation made by 44,000 other people who gave to the effort.

“At the end of the day, what we are witnessing is an all-American thing,” Meade said. “It’s not a Mike Bloomberg thing. Mike Bloomberg is one of over 44,000 people that had donated to help these people resolve their legal financial obligations.”

Meade said his group — whose deputy director is a registered Republican — is not operating in the “political realm.” He also brushed aside an assertion that the money would be targeted primarily to help Black and Hispanic felons seeking to have their rights restored.

“We are fighting just as hard for that person who wished he could have voted for Donald Trump as that person who wished they could have voted for Barack Obama,” Meade said.

He added that his organization is “looking for people who have been impacted by felony convictions and want to move on in their lives.”

The decision by DeSantis and Moody to probe the coalition came on the same day that the governor refused to grant a pardon to Meade, a convicted felon who went from being a drug addict to a law school graduate and leader of the group that successfully passed Amendment 4. During a meeting of the state clemency board Wednesday, DeSantis said he wanted more information about Meade’s military discharge following a larceny conviction.

Moody at the start of the meeting recused herself from consideration of Meade’s pardon. She said afterwards she chose to do so to avoid any conflict-of-interest allegations, but declined to say what conflict she may have. Her office released her letter to the FBI after the clemency board meeting was over.

Florida Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried, the only statewide elected Democrat, said the Republicans “will stop at nothing to prevent people from voting.”

“Whether Mike Bloomberg, John Legend, or LeBron James, these are contributions made legally and in good faith to FRRC’s mission of helping people rightfully regain the right to vote,” Fried said in a statement. “This shouldn’t be a partisan issue — more than 5 million Floridians on both sides of the aisle voted for this in 2018. "It’s unfortunate that the Republican Party views denying people the right to vote as a necessity in their path to victory in 2020."

Biden was briefed about son's involvement, according to Hunter Biden Burisma report: Hemingway

The Burisma report released Wednesday was downplayed by media

Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden has "not spoken accurately about his knowledge of his son's involvement in Burisma" or the problem it caused for the Obama administration, Fox News contributor Molly Hemingway said Wednesday night.

Reacting to the mainstream media and Democrats downplaying the report by two U.S. Senate committees on Hunter Biden's overseas dealings while his father was vice president, the Federalist senior editor said there is "truly breaking news" in the report.

"While this is focused on Hunter Biden and James Biden and other family members of Joe Biden, not Joe Biden himself, it is also true that Joe Biden was revealed to have not spoken accurately about his knowledge of his son’s involvement in Burisma, the Ukrainian energy concern," Hemingway told "Fox News @ Night."

Hemingway points out "It did cause a problem during the Obama Administration that there was this conflict of interest. It was not dealt with and we again are still awaiting answers as to exactly all the problems that caused."

She rejected the media's claims there was no evidence of wrongdoing by Hunter Biden, "who has no known skill set that would put him in a position to be doing business with foreign leaders," in dealings with Russia and China.

"We saw a lot of people in the media claim that this is old news which was an interesting approach to take, given that they hadn’t reported any of this news beforehand and some of it was truly breaking news such as the wire transfer between the Russian oligarch who was married to the former mayor of Moscow, $3.5 million to Hunter Biden," Hemingway said.

The New York Times headline said, "Republican inquiry finds no evidence of wrongdoing by Biden," saying the report "delivered on Wednesday appeared to be little more than a rehash of unproven allegations that echoed a Russian disinformation campaign."

Hemingway said there are still more questions that need to be answered about Hunter Biden's involvement: "Why were people paying him so much money? What did they get out of it? And why was this done for someone who really had no experience in any of these fields or any appreciable skills that would make sense for him doing business this way?"

Biden campaign spokesman Andrew Bates on Wednesday blasted the investigation for pursuing a “conspiracy theory.”

"As the coronavirus death toll climbs and Wisconsinites struggle with joblessness, Ron Johnson has wasted months diverting the Senate Homeland Security & Governmental Affairs Committee away from any oversight of the catastrophically botched federal response to the pandemic, a threat Sen. Johnson has dismissed by saying that 'death is an unavoidable part of life,’" Bates said in a statement Wednesday. "Why? To subsidize a foreign attack against the sovereignty of our elections with taxpayer dollars -- an attack founded on a long-disproven, hardcore rightwing conspiracy theory that hinges on Sen. Johnson himself being corrupt and that the Senator has now explicitly stated he is attempting to exploit to bail out Donald Trump's re-election campaign.
The Democratic nominee "said he didn’t know about it when the report shows that in fact, some bureaucrats were so concerned about Hunter Biden’s role that they had briefed him, that they had alerted the FBI," she said.

The 87-page report states, "in October 2015, senior State Department official Amos Hochstein raised concerns with Vice President Biden, as well as with Hunter Biden, that Hunter Biden’s position on Burisma’s board enabled Russian disinformation efforts and risked undermining U.S. policy in Ukraine."

"Well, Putin and the Kremlin, of course, are involved in disinformation campaigns and the Democratic National Committee and Hillary Clinton quite famously purchased that dossier that was full of falsehoods about the Trump campaign, so it is something to be concerned about," Hemingway said.

Biden: Harris 'Ready' If Someone Pushes Him 'Off Roof'

Joe Biden, the Democratic nominee for president, tried to downplay concerns Wednesday if elected running mate Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., would need to replace him before his term was over, heaping praise on her by saying she would be ready on "day one" – and then quickly adding, "if someone pushed me off a roof."

Biden's comments on the nationally syndicated radio program "The Steve Harvey Morning Show" come as many, including President Donald Trump, have questioned the former vice president's mental acuity amid numerous gaffes, such as misstating the words to the Pledge of Allegiance on Monday in Wisconsin and a day earlier in Philadelphia saying 200 million have died in the United States from COVID-19 instead of 200,000.

Biden, 77, called Harris, 55, "so good" and "so damn bright and knowledgeable."

"She's ready to be president on Day One if I – if somebody pushed me off a roof or something," he said. "There are a lot of really fine women that I had to choose from, but I think she's ready on Day One."

Conservative commentators especially have been mocking Biden for his frequent gaffes, with The Federalist keeping a running tally.

In a Rasmussen poll last month, 59% of likely voters, including 49% of Democrats, said they thought it was unlikely Biden would finish a four-year term if elected.

That's the nature of the position. VP has to be ready from day one. That's not a Biden "gaffe."

But look at the bigger issue. If Republicans were TRULY concerned, what would they have done? Been outraged and said: we're going to change the law to make sure this never happens again - we're going to make it harder to employ relatives of politicians in executive positions which has been a KNOWN source of corruption for DECADES.
But have they done that? Of course not since the GOP is the embodiment of a corrupt party. They LOVE the system, just want to keep it for themselves so that their kids continue to benefit from it. In this case, they're trying to score a few political points against Biden, that's all.

Zero effort has been made during the last 4 years to fight corruption, as this administration is probably the most corrupt-loving in history.

Zero effort has been made in the last 40 years to fight corruption. You think that the Democratic Party isn't equally corrupt? That they don't use their power to enrich friends and relatives.

If Joe Biden is elected POTUS, guess what, he won't do anything about it either. Why? Not because of some evil GOP strategy. No. The reason will be is that he is just as corrupt as the Donald is, and so is Pelosi, and so is McConnell, and Schumer, and McCarthy, and the list goes on and on and on.

People are probably thinking that Hunter Biden is the exception. No, he is the one that got CAUGHT.

    And they don't want to.

To think either party is less or more corrupt than the other is delusional thinking.

Only part I disagree with is Trump hiring his daughter and son in law to work in the White House. They aren't qualified. But neither was he, so WTF.

Though, I am curious as to how much Jared had to do with the Middle East deals, I must admit.

Trump was at least as qualified as Obama. Obama had never run anything. He was a senator for like 2 years and then started running for President. McCain was overwhelmingly more qualified.

That said, I'd agree that neither was particularly qualified, but they both got elected.
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em. -
