Why not? The team that has the best record should be in a position at some points for at least one series to have an advantage. Absolutely.

They'll have a home field advantage...in their first round.

I understand what you're saying but this year all normalcy is obviously out the window.

Besides, if the Dodgers are really that good they should be able to win anywhere.

Its not about that by the way, they have the best road record in baseball in addition to everything else they lead in this year, which is almost every important stat. I just think players should get some advantage of sleeping at home by having the best team record-wise in the league.

Because all of the other teams that earned home field in their match-ups don't get it???

Again, none of them have the best record in baseball and live in a bubble city.

I get what you're saying. But you can't give a team home field just because one of the bubbles happens to be their home field. It's a bubble situation so they have to be fair and give nobody home field advantage.

Well, the AL has its 8 playoff teams. NL still only has 4 teams that clinched a spot. 8 teams mathematically still alive for the final 4 spots, but realistically it's more like 6, as the Mets and Rockies are hangin' by a thread.

Not a fan of how they are doing the playoffs this year. Im assuming this garbage will go away. The only good thing is that the wildcard thing should be a three-game series.

Yanks have to win today to keep that 5th spot. I'd rather they play the White Sox than the Rays. In the AL only the Rays (1) and the Astros (6) have clinched their seeding spots. In the NL the top 4 are locked in: LA (1), Atl (2), Cubs (3), and SD (4).

With this season being what it is I'm a little surprised the Tigers/Royals, Mets/Nationals and Rockies/D'backs games are even being played.

Yes, they did. White Sox lost and the Indians won so the Yanks play Cleveland now.

AL starts on Tuesday, NL begins on Wednesday. No off days within each series up to the World Series.

    And here are the matchups:

    AL
    1 TB vs 8 Tor
    2 Oak vs 7 ChW
    3 Minn vs 6 Hou
    4 Cle vs 5 NYY

    NL
    1 LAD vs 8 Mil
    2 Atl vs 7 Cin
    3 ChC vs 6 Mia
    4 SD vs 5 StL

There is still TV money to help keep the lights on.

I am sure MLB is the same way, but they were talking NBA finances and how they can't do what they did this year again next year, that they need to be back to normal.

What a shocker that the 4th and 5th seeds get the prime time games because one of them is New York. Not...

As much as I didn’t like the bending of the rules for (hopefully only) this season, I am impressed that MLB got in 898 of 900 games they intended to play this season - only losing a couple of St. Louis vs. Detroit as far as I can tell. All of these sports had to bend a little to get their seasons in and I’m glad they made the attempt. Hopefully their next seasons can be closer to normal (I know the NHL and NBA will have late starts - not sure if they are planning other concessions. And as far as the NHL - remember, the last time the Lightning won the Stanley Cup, the Brothers toured with Sam, and they even let Mike tag along).
