almost time for the Washington Nikes vs. the New York Nikes and later the San Francisco Nikes vs. The Los Angeles Nikes - baseball! For real!

Time for the 2020 MLB season presented by BLM and of course, Nike. Where social distancing equals 90 feet and the catcher always wears a mask.

Nice start for the AL and NL favourites. Yankees and Dodgers both looked very good.

Yep, me too. One of the things I liked about baseball was the two leagues did it differently and had to alternate in the world series. I guess the masses want offense. Which is cool. But I also like the strategery introduced by a batter who can't hit but may be striking out guys left and right (pardon the pun).

I don't even like the 10 team playoffs, but who am I? As for the extra inning thing - don't like that either. At least go to your stats guys and find the average number of innings played in extra inning games the past 10 years, and start after that (for instance, if the average is 12 - the 13th inning is the one that starts with the runner on second). I get it, especially this wacky season, not exposing them any more than you have to, but one or two extra innings is not going to stress the system.

the DH will be permanent. I can see the expanded playoffs being permanent. I really hope the extra innings rule won't be. That's way too much of a gimmick.

Bet you're right about the DH. Hope you're wrong about the playoff. There were already too many teams. You don't need a "wild card" in a sport where they play 162 games. All about the Benjamins, I reckon.

this is certainly a money move. And in a weird year like this i think they need to do whatever they can to create revenue so i'm ok with the expanded playoffs. 5 teams per league I think is a reasonable number. The greater issue is the unbalanced schedule.
