New Sassafras Wolfgang Special and EVH LBX-S.

This is the first Wolfgang special to have a roasted/baked maple neck (the Standards have had them for a while now). And with the LBX-S there is now a lunchbox head for each two-channel combo of the 5150iii series (LBX = Blue+Red, LBXII = Green+Blue, LBX-S = Green+Red). The LBX-S also has LED backlighting that changes corresponding to the channel selection.

Woah, didn’t see the LBX-S coming - looks very cool!

Not a fan of the current baked maple fretboard fad - ebony or maple for me.

I'm disappointed there's only two releases, but these both look great! Who thinks that when Winter NAMM rolls around, all the specials with maple necks will have baked maple?
I'm half surprised there's no new 5150 colors, but half not because I don't see them selling as much.
Also, that doesn't bother me because I'm extremely happy with my tobacco 5150 and have absolutely no interest in getting another (but I'm definitely interested in more Wolfgangs...weird how that works)

I'm happy we get anything all pandemic considered. I'm really diggin the baked maple necks and can't wait to try one. All of these natural wood finish wolfies are also as nearly artistic as the trans maple tops. Very cool.

Not a fan of the tactile wood finishes (if that's what this is). It feels cheap to me even when it's real. But I'm digging that neck and headstock.

Sassafras ? Nothing says Rock and Roll like “Sassafras”. Where do they come up with the names for these colors? Lol

That is a beautiful guitar though. I do like the looks of baked maple necks as well. Not a fan of the black hardware, it seems EVH has very few Wolfgang specials with chrome anymore.

Agreed - the black hardware trend has been awful for the Special line.

I totally refuse to bite the tone chasing hook on that guitar...I seriously doubt Eddie has or will ever play that guitar....
